Too many ****e individual performances on top of the ****e approach to the game as a collective yesterday. Carvalho and Philogene were piss-poor and that was Philogene’s worst game in a City shirt by some distance. Slater was ****e and Morton wasn’t much better either. This is a really unbalanced squad. My mate, who isn’t a City fan but has watched them a few times this season, has said that we try to shoehorn in too many attackers and even then we still don’t pose much of an attacking threat because the team is so unbalanced. Can’t say I disagree. The game plan seems to be possession for possession sake in our own half but as soon as we manage to get the ball forward, there is no coherent plan or structure. It’s just ‘get it to Philogene or another flair player and hope they can do something brilliant’.

So, after reflecting overnight, still naffed off, but what I don’t get is the team put out surely had every incentive/motivation to cement their grip on their play off place, go out with the bit between their teeth, hit the ground running. Yes, Swansea did a job on us, snuffed us out, but we showed little to no urgency until the last 10 mins. Whether complacency/over confidence affected them, I would have expected at half time for Rosie to have reset the mentality and game plan. Sadly, we just got more of the same, no change.

And while I’m at it, I am all for stamping down on time wasting, with refs now awarding yellow cards, why didn’t the ref act in Swansea’s impromptu prolonged water break, instead of letting them get away with it, should have shown a card to their Cpt to enforce his control, and/or let us get on with play if they weren’t bothered.

No direct flights to UK from CI, it’ll take him a day or so to get back to Hull. Can’t see him being available for Roth unless Acun sends his jet.

He was brought in to replace the outgoing Twine. That outgoing that people were worried we weren't going to replace in the squad.

It felt to me that LR gave the team a chance to react after HT and when they didn't he made changes reasonably quickly. Should have taken a few more off though.

Yep. That's where Rosenior's logic falls down when he says the players were complacent / over confident etc. Half time should have sorted that out at the very latest (if it was the case it should never have been in the first place nor allowed to continue even to HT). They simply out thought, out worked and out muscled us. When the oppostion get their game plan right like yesterday, Rosenior doesn't appear to have the ability or tools to counter it. It's a repeating pattern.

We beat Sunderland by countering a game plan that had been successful against us mere weeks prior.

But at the same time for all our bad performances people talk about we are in this position we are on the play off area, as for teams dropping points as a reason we are were we are would you rather have their managers, we are in a decent position and we will still make the play offs they had a bad day at the office everyone does ipswich having a few and i would not be surprised if we finish above them.

That SOME were worried we weren't replacing in the squad. Others didn't get the obsession with getting him here when we already had 10's.
Twine played mostly out wide anyway!!! Philogene and Zaroury's positions, so not sure how Carvalho replaces him, other than wage packet wise.

Frustrating result but these games do happen and always have throughout our history (Peterborough at home under Bruce springs to mind) I’d not lose it too much win the next two and knowing us we will somehow beat West Brom. That being said jury very much still out on Rosie, I aren’t saying he’s not the man for the job but a more experienced manager would do wonders with this squad. Missed a trick with Corberan.

Yeah if we hadn't dicked around with that other geezer who strung us along I wouldn't have minded Corberan at the time.

Big decisions for Tuesday and Saturday I suspect. Going to upset a few, specifically Slater, Tufan and even Morton. Or maybe alternatively, pick the same XI with the words 'go out and do better' ringing in their ears. I wouldn't want the job. Got to tread a careful line and not upset too many.

Coventry winning. We're down to 8th...We'll need positives from both Tuesday and next Saturday or else I can see it falling away.

With our inconsistentcy we could play a blinder and the world is okay again for another game or two.
Hopefully we learn from Saturday and go with adapted tactics, I'd like to see Pandur given a go, even just to see if it changes things from the back

That's a strange one as I thought Allsop was brilliant, one of our only good performers. Made some fantastic saves and took the ball well in the air.

Was fine for the most part, although still managed to spill a fairly routine save into the path of an incoming Swansea player in the second half. Luckily our defence were covering and managed to clear it

Martins, bit of a fiasco from all ends that.

You could see from as early as about minute 5 that we were going to struggle. They, (Swansea) were right up for it, had a game plan and pressed us very high. Play seemed to be pressed into a ten yard space. We had no clue on how to break them down, that and too many players having stinkers didn't contribute to a positive afternoon.
Pre-match I predicted a 2-2 yesterday (unlike some who thought it was going to be a walk in the park). Its never been a walk in the park for City for about 50 years. We never looked like scoring 1 never mind 2. Give them some credit, they sussed us as a lot of teams are doing now. Every time the ball went wide they doubled up on us immediately, and effectively stopped any forward momentum. The lack of a target man off the bench and a plan B is doing us no favours...Never mind lessons will be learnt.

He did pull off quite a few good saves yesterday ( as did there's) though sometimes I find his positioning on and off the ball (which you might not see on TV) a bit baffling, Jr (who's an ex junior keeper) also thought he shouldn't have been caught out for the first goal on his near post positionally.
Moreover sometimes when something is not working to plan 'make a change' - though who knows how good Pandur will be, but he's been brought in for a reason...

Has Tufan scored a header since he arrived? Just think he isn't really a striker. Therein lay one of the problems with team selection.
