The referee WAS poor, but he was poor for both sides. He was just guessing decisions by the end

I would liken him to shane long, workrate and pressing gives defenders a tough game. His running also opens space for others, could get exploited with another striker on the pitch.
I think the more he plays, the players will get used to the runs and hopefully pick him out.

That’s just game management unfortunately mate although I do agree, far too many in our fan base would stamp their feet if we took Clarke off and they managed to scored twice. Lost plenty of games this season whilst he’s stayed on for 90 minutes though and people need to realise that we have a squad for a reason especially if we’re 2 goals up heading into the latter stages. Excited to see what Styles brings

Saying “87 free kicks” is childish and just shows bad loser bitterness. Does he think Mumba bear hugging over about 10 yards and then additionally wrapping leg around to fell a player is not a foul ?

Good view of our last two goals but a fraudulent and misleading title.
Because of the anomalies, of motorway exits, etc, it's further from Sunderland to Plymouth 413 miles than vice versa 395 miles ...

... haha haha haha, we win again <laugh>

If anyone disagrees, with this post, I'm putting my fingers in my ears and singing <whistle>

Wouldn't mind us trying for both Griffiths and Hardie in the summer. They look like they'd be a great fit.

Hardie is a cracking striker. Banged on about him in January but might be a deal costly to do. Would be a good fit in our side in my opinion. Hopefully by the summer Rusyn has proven to be a first choice number 9 for us. His work rate is tremendous.

Just watched the game back, thing that stood out for me is we seem to have abandoned the short corner routine.
However hitting the first player every time isn't very clever, needs work imo.

We’ve been horrendous on corners for a couple of years now, I’m sure it’s something Beale will be looking to work on.

Hope they can work on Patto's distribution as well. We were spoiled with Picks but Patto is so frustrating at times not releasing it early.

Rigg is supposed to be pretty decent at set pieces. Wonder how long before he starts a game...

Apologies if already posted. Further comments from Mike Beale. I like him and hope he brings the success that we all crave.

"It’s still early days. That’s my 10th game and we’ve still got some really important matches and we’ve still got everything to prove; me, the players, us as a team and as a club. What team are we going to be? In moments today, the three goals for example were fantastic, but the feeling in the stadium, the applause that they gave me and my family but also in the 79th minute they did it again for another person’s family as well and I think that’s fantastic.

“It's a club that means so much to people so there's a lot of responsibility on the staff and the players. It's a serious business that we're in and where we are in the league, every game is so important so it's nice driving home tonight knowing the fans are pleased with what they saw.

“That feeling we have for our club, these young players are doing everything they can to make the fans happy – the fans are right behind them. It’s where we want it to be at the moment. When they’re behind our team - it’s a young team, I don't think they understand how much that lifts them as well. In that 10 or 15 minute period today when we’re scoring goals and we’re attacking and the crowd is up; what a place to play football.

“We’ve got everything to prove in the next two or three months. It’s exciting.”

Worth remembering Rusyn is from a different culture and may not be as into the hugging and kissing side of goal celebrations as others in the squad.

Thinking about the club as a whole after a few beers (as you do) and I've come to the conclusion that Sunderland is kind of being in a long term marriage. You enjoy being together but there's times when you're really pissed off in the relationship but something will remind you why you're in the relationship in the first place and you fall in love again

Patto frustrates me at times. There's balls that come into the box whether high or low and he doesn't come for them. I might be old school but a keeper should command his box as a whole
