Port Vale and / or Cheltenham could overhaul us. Even Fleetwood have taken 6 points from their last 3 games. 5 more than we have from ours.
Sadly the form table indicates Lincoln City will not roll over. They are unbeaten in at least five games and have won their last two. A point may be the best we can reasonably expect.
Awful performance. The lack of creativity is woeful. Ladspo simply looks like a washed up 40 year old who would struggle to get a start at Whitstable. Ditto Edun. We need to have continuity with the manager, but the next few months will be a hard watch. And letting CBT and Dobbo go without getting in improvements is madness.
So, after a big reaction from fans trying to get to the game, no sign of a revival at all on the pitch. Not even a dead cat bounce. You'd think the players would try to show some effort and belief in their new gaffer. It sounds like we've been mugged with Ladapo. How many games has he played in now, five? And he's produced next to nothing. And if Dobson really has been sold then the clowns running the Club have just cost us our 3rd tier status. And Jones has lied about it. An utter disgrace. Thomas Sandgaard was a better owner than these spivs - and he didn't have a clue what he was doing.
Curbs, who is usually quite astute, wondered if they had left a lot on the training ground, trying to impress the new boss. Alfie especially looked tired. And he has very little time to work with them before the Lincoln game. Jones did say he had learned a lot though, and one Jones-watcher said he was venting his ire particularly at the wing-backs and Louis Watson.
I still say it all comes back to money. If you have to sell your best players because you can’t match what other teams are prepared to pay, then you will, at best, tread water, but with Andy Scott buying the replacements you will undoubtedly go backwards. Fast. It doesn’t work to stay within the SCMP rules unless all the other teams do the same and even then you need to have a better recruitment team than them.
