They were focusing their press on Coyle, their no10 was on him quickly every time. I assumed it was to stem supply to Philogene.
Tufan showed last week what I’ve been waiting for since he joined the club, he’s always been a battler but we never seem to play him further back. I’d definitely start him over Slater, his attributes are perfect for a defensive midfielder now that he’s much fitter than last season.

That shows genuine consideration of the City and the west Hull community in particular. It also exudes class. I really don’t know how we ended up with these owners, but it finally feels like we’ve got people in charge who ‘get’ us and what we want. The fact they’ve come from Türkiye was possibly unexpected admittedly, but they seem to understand us nonetheless. And fair play to both sets of Tubbies too.
This seems to be one of those common myths city fans like to peddle like Tom Cairney being too one footed. There is no evidence to use as a basis to suggest Tufan couldn’t play the deeper midfield role in fact it’s where he’s played most of his career at a level much higher than us so he is clearly capable of doing it.
If you're going to use a comparison, I'd pick a better one then tom Carney, he is and always has been ridiculously one footed, it's an on going joke within the Fulham squad
He is very one footed but so are a lot of players, for some weird reason people made a real issue of it with Cairney when it really wasn’t much of one at all. And if he was right footed the chances are nobody would ever have picked up on it at all.
Think Tufan would do a great job in midfield, He wouild provide what we are missing when it comes to starting attack-speed. His passing is first time almost all the time.
He is quite dynamic, and the majority of his goals are from arriving late into space in and around the box. I think we would probably see an improvement from him playing deeper. I can see why he wasn’t playing there at first, he seemed to struggle a bit with the hustle and bustle or English football but he’s taken that well in his stride now and there’s no reason why not to play him there anymore.
As you say lots are, but for some reason ( could it be the way he moves/plays/the speed he plays etc ) it's way more obvious with him them with others, I think that's where it comes from. On a personal note, I think it's inexcusable that any pro be one footed in this day and age who plays and trains as much as they do, with the support they have with coaches etc. I know some pick it up easier then others, but there's still no excuse imo
Looks a strong side that on paper with adequate back up. Our bench has been a focal point for a while now but it’s becoming stronger . Looking forward to a good performance from City today but more importantly getting those all important 3 points in the bag with another win. UTT.
