Grayson selling his arse to the world renowned bitcoincasinos.com. Taking it up the arse for a £250 fee ... ... his MOT must be due
Flops and disappointments. Categories containing lots of competition, in which he came out top . Love it
There was a stat after his 31st Premier League start with us that we hadn’t won a single match with him in the starting lineup. He had the worst case of Cinderella Syndrome I’d ever seen.
Grayson's confusing two different things there (not unexpectedly, as he's thick as mince) Would anyone who'd agreed a contract, offer to take half the agreed wage when they didn't have to? Course they wouldn't, so Rodwell's not to blame for that, and I don't think most people were upset about him doing that. That was the club's mistake. Would most normal people in that situation attempt to at least work their arse off to justify their excessive wage? Course they would, only a work-shy lazy waste of space would do what Rodwell did in that respect.
I really don't like to be any kind of intellectual snob because I realise there are many who could look downwards at me in that respect but my God that man was thick as pig ****.
My biggest issue with Rodwell wasn’t the injuries it was the hiding on the pitch and lack of energy/ enthusiasm. That’s on him. But I presume like most of us I was very happy when we signed him.
Thought he was going to be massive for us. Potential club legend. I’ve since stopped making assumptions at the time of signing!!
I remember Chris Wilder slating Sunderland fans for casting doubt on Rodwell before he managed a full one and a half appearances all season for Sheffield United Barry Glendenning has plenty to say about him (and us). Sunderland Til I Die exposed the Rodwell scam but clubs kept buying him for some strange reason https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...urney-from-england-prospect-to-sydney-outcast
Can't remember Wilder having anything to say but I remember fans at Blackburn having plenty to say about him only being **** cause he was with us! Grayson thinks it was about money, no one would give a **** about the money if the lad didn't hide he could even hide on the pitch when he wasn't hiding in the treatment room. I remember seeing him actually run behind an opposition player so he was marked out of the pass! Then he went to the papers when he was coming to the end here and made out he was harshly treated and wanted to get his career back on track and make his kid proud by being an England player again! Blokes got nothing about him, he is the opposite of players we sign today. Compare his attitude to O'Nien!
It wasn’t as bad as I remembered: “There might be a club in the north-east who might chuckle over stuff about Jack Rodwell," Wilder said. But there's two parts to that story. There is a lot of nonsense that has been talked about Jack. Maybe the spotlight shouldn't be shone on Jack, maybe it should be shone on a CEO at the time.“ Rodwell’s talent and O’Nien’s attitude together would make a world class player. O’Nien is perfect for us. Shows up every match, something Rodwell hasn’t done since his Everton days.
I was going to make a remark about imagine O'Nein with his talent but changed my mind. Because I didn't watch Rodwell in his Everton days but remember there was a bit of hype and he got a move to City and England's caps. So I assume he had talent but that's all I can do is assume. Didn't show much in his time here and hasn't since. I couldn't say with all certainty that his talent was as better than O'Nien's, I know his reputation at one point was. What I'm trying to say is supposedly he had talent but was it really as good as made out? Who knows when he never showed it. Hiding in the treatment room is unforgivable, don't blame him for not taken a pay cut though!
there did seem to be a bit of a 'phase' where any young midfielder who showed a bit of talent was declared the next england captain, rodwell was one and most just dropped off the radar, one or two such as barkley tried to get back on track, rodwell discovered after his 'big money move' that he got paid just as much while waiting to get on the team sheet, i am convinced it just became an easy habit to follow or maybe his confidence was shot while waiting for that big chance. we were just the same as most fans at the time, 'this lad has talent why did he not get game starts?'...so signing him was seen as a great deal but we soon found out why they were happy to get rid of him and since then a few other clubs found the same. i was probably one of the first to post that he actually makes runs to get a player between him and the ball rather than looking for space (think i got a few pelters for that), most were still expecting him to be his younger self, anyone who took any sort of notice of the club and playing staff soon realised it was just wasted money, mind i never really saw this 'amazing talent' that others saw.
Not convinced it wasn't just hype from day 1! Shocking business to give him £70k a week when he hadn't been playing for a while. Didn't think it as I believed the hype but clubs and their recruiting team should do better and think we do now!
