Don’t panic folks, it’s like a blue badge for referees only, after completely f.ucking up a call and failing to blow for a clear penalty, they show the blue badge to indicate that they are in fact registered blind and therefore disabled <whistle><whistle><whistle>

Hate to get technical about this but that doesn't help as we are all then under a duty to make reasonable adjustments to enable them to go on officiating.

I'm probably the only person here that doesn't hate it. Not for dissent but for those cynical tackles used to break up a counter attack that aren't a red, but a yellow can be too soft. 10 mins off the pitch for that would scratch and itch for me.

But don't the laws of the game already give the referee the power to deal with these type of offences? That's what the yellow cards are for.....
If they wanted to beef up the punishment, make every yellow card 10 minutes in a sin bin just like rugby.....

If they actually used the cards they had there would be no issue. Instead they accept the abuse/timewasting/****housery and avoid the hard decisions.

The blue card will be used for the folirst 4-weeks then avoided in all close games.

Seems they've had so much flack the idea is being reviewed now. My guess is it'll be kicked into the long grass, football is being f*cked up enough by VAR without adding another layer of irritating nonsense...

Bit of a joke, you'll end up with 7 players sin binned for 10 minutes and total carnage

There are definitely times where a team breaks away and could potentially have scored, but opposition player pulls them back or cynically fouls. Player picks up a yellow and carries on. Fouled team has had their momentum taken away, as well as their opportunity to break and score.

In that sense, picking up a yellow is well worth it. The offending team gets the benefit of the incident.

A sin bin would make it not worth it. And so, I totally agree with a sin bin.

I think the colour of the proposed card has put some people off! :cheesy:

I’m with Sb on this, there’s enough stop/start as there is. Just get the refs to be ****ing consistent with the laws we have now - they won’t be able to cope with another new law and another coloured card and a sin bin to manage and more players surrounding them screaming ‘for a blue’.

Stop players delaying play by surrounding the ref and book them. Chaos for a few months then it will stop and the game can get on FFS.

They'll never allow that to happen, so they'll end up just not issuing the blue cards. The rules are already in place they need to apply them properly.

That is exactly what I would propose.

I actually believe it would be a good improvement.
