For those of us grumbling about player behaviour sin bins could be trialled in next season's FA cup. Players could be shown blue cards and sent to a sin-bin for dissent and cynical fouls. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ld-be-introduced-to-football-under-ifab-plans
Yeah I think the only way it will work is if it’s solely for dissent. I can’t see it working and they’ll ditch it or massively reduce when blue cards are shown pretty quick
Thing is the refs already have the ability to deal with dissent. If they handed out bookings every time it happened then after a few weeks of 3 sending offs a match then it would decrease dramatically. It's on them/PGMOL that they choose not to enforce the current rules.
Reading this morning that a yellow + blue equals a red which doesn’t seem right if the blue card is for an offence not deemed worthy of a yellow. 2 blue cards should maybe equal one yellow in which case a yellow and 2 blues should maybe equal one red. Referee interpretation is going to be so important and refs are going to be under so much scrutiny to ensure consistency across the board that I can see many arguments, especially if goals are conceded by teams reduced to 10. Yellow and blue equals green in the colour charts.
Yeah I'm of the opinion that this isn't needed and will just cause more problems with inconsistency. As someone else said, players should be getting yellows for disent and cynical fouls anyway.
The cynic in me thinks if a team has lost a player for 10, the ref will probably be a bit more prone to “evening things up” during that period. Sorta like they do now when there’s an obvious yellow/red for the perpetrator & the casualty who reacts with a “nothing” ends up with the same punishment.
2 massive games in Europe tomorrow: Real Madrid v Girona (Live on ITV4, 17:30 kick off) Bayer Leverkusen v Bayern Munich (Live on Sky Sports, 17:30 kick off) Annoyingly they kick off at the same time.
Flights booked for London. Can only do it and Greece but did Greece last campaign so will save on the days off
You're right, feel free to move it. It's Friday evening, first time I felt well enough for a beer or three after a week of fluey cold.
Tella assist as Leverkusen go 2-0 up against Bayern. I'm pleased to see him loving life in Germany rather than playing in Burnley.
Can't be many players to go from winning the Championship to the Bundesliga in a year...he has a shot at it.
Bayern reaping the rewards of signing two former spurs players, leverkeusen the benefit of one former saint
Ivory Coast win the African Nations despite losing two games plus not winning two more in normal time. They were undisputably the better team in the final, however with tournaments trying to cram more and more teams in it does seem a farce that the champions can finish third in their group with a GD of -3.
