Could 'stop' a fully-laden London bus atm, so hope I haven't put the mockers on this one! Dunskay, top-weight in the Bumper at Huntingdon (16:35) will certainly appreciate this soft ground (might even be heavy later as it's raining heavily in the Huntingdon area at present, apparently? Enough said. Harry Cobden rides for the Ben Pauling yard. 7/2 (Ladbrokes/Unibet)) best price on the ATR site at time of writing.
I hope you are wrong for the sake of Fergal and his big FOB Partnership horse, Shy Love, who is making its racecourse debut. He is a half brother to Brandy Love, but looks much more like his half brother Topofthecotswolds. A big staying chaser in the making, and bumpers won't likely see him at his best, but the soft ground might just make a lot of difference. Similarly I thought the other horse from the yard would have been interesting on better ground, so I think you'd have to be with Shy Love from the pair. I like Dan Skelton at Huntingdon, but his horse is on the drift, and without Harry, he is one I can avoid. I just hope Shy Love starts his career well.
Harry on holidays until Saturday. Tristan can get the job done, but I think the horse needs an extra few furlongs.
Bass Rock looks interesting, Ron. Dropped in class for his return to hurdles, having won three Class 2, and comes here 5lbs below his winning mark. He should go close.
Interesting extract from RP "Sometimes a newcomer has such a punchy price-tag in spite of possessing a relatively ordinary pedigree that it makes you think they must have displayed particularly promising athleticism to have made them worth getting. That’s the case with Cauvicourt, who makes his debut for Henrietta Knight in the bumper at Huntingdon today. He is by Top Trip, a high-class stayer but with few standout offspring, out of a winning Satri mare with just the one black-type horse (lower black type to boot) under her first three dams, and yet he was bought by his trainer from talent-spotter extraordinaire Hugh Bleahen for €68,000 at the Goffs Arkle Sale last year. The seal of approval from two such renowned horse people as Bleahen and Knight makes Cauvicourt worth an each-way interest alone."
Just tuned into ATR for a lazy afternoon watching Donny races and it’s a winter wonderland. Gonna have to find something else to do
He's now a non runner. Was looking forward to seeing (albeit on catch up tv after work) my boy run again
