Absolutely abysmal against Liverpool. Apart from the goalkeeper who looks really very good, not a single player looked anywhere near PL class. Mudryk, Sterling, Casiedo, were shockingly bad, couldn't pass, couldn't beat a man, especially clueless at running running off the ball and giving a teammate someone to pass to. Mudryk in particular has no football intelligence. He's never gets into the right place, never makes the right move, can't make the simplest pass and hasn't a clue how to link his play to those around him. I can't believe we haven't put him up for sale, he's utterly hopeless. You need more than speed to play in the PL and he has zero except speed. All the team need a bit of mongrel in their game, not play like a bunch of lapdogs looking for someone else to carry them instead of standing on their own feet. Never seen a Chelsea side lose the ball so early, so easily and so often. Chilwell was up there with the worst, but they were all useless. Silva showed his lack of legs is now a problem. I am definitely swinging towards those that think Pochettino is not the answer, his teams Chelsea have lacked flair, teamwork, understanding and positional play all season and not improved one jot. Fernandez looks like he's had a bellyful of trying to get these logs moving ,and might soon be looking to move on himself. What Palmer was doing as a #9 is anyones' guess , he was ineffective until he moved out and Nkuku came on. He and Nkuku did show some class and intent , but they all need to do the same.
I've said it before but Sterling needs to go, and the fact that Poch keeps on picking him is unfathomable. Mudryk is hopeless, the rest, not much better, however agree that Fernandez has potential in a good team and Petrovic is good, certainly better than Sanchez. Chuckweumeka lifted us a little and Gusto also. Nice goal from Nkunku, given the chances he may be what we need. Overall very disappointed with Poch.
On another subject, it looks as if Trevor Chalobah should play again in a weeks time. Hope he goes well . I thought he looked better than Fofana every time they played last year. Poch is not only failing to get the Team playing as a team, our very expensive players all look to have gone backwards with such bizarre selections and players constantly out of position. Only Palmer and, in glimpses Nkuku, look to be doing well , of course our young Goalkeeper is maybe the best of the lot, he's taken his chances and done really well. Perhaps it's because he doesn't get played out of position !!!!
Yep, I’m officially on the Poch out wagon. 22 games is more than enough to make some changes. The guy needs to go immediately.
Another dogshite performance against Wolves today, it's getting hard to justify the managers position, at this rate we will be closer to relegation than Europe. J. O'Hara said on skysports "The players should be disgusted with themselves". The lack of effort was embarassing.
Same amount of points at this stage of the season as the last one. I’ve no doubt we’ve wasted some money on absolutely bang average players but he needs to be getting more out of them. Badiashille was a rolls Royce last year, what’s happened to him? Fernandez the same. Sterling has got worse, Thiago Silva worse, Colwill worse.
This was way worse than Liverpool, it was a gutless, incompetent mess from start to finish. Wolves ran us ragged, and we just walked with not a clue or desire to actually ever run. Slow and ponderous, with no stomach for the fight, we were out played, out thought and out muscled in every 50-50 situation by a much better managed Team of proper footballers. Sterling was utter garbage, what a miserable little phoney he is.Thiago Silva was like a giant handbrake, he stops any impetus and slows us to a crawl and is absolutely ready for a comfy chair in a retirement home. As for Chilwell, IF he's fit ,then he's finished, he has been abysmal, and cannot be fit surely. He looks tentative and disinterested and not ready. Pochettino needs to go, he is still sprouting the same old garbage blaming everything except his own ability to get a Billion + worth of players up to local park standard. Right behind him should be whoever is running our recruitment. Only Palmer looks like a player. Nkuku was absolutely starved of service today, so poor was our midfield only Caisedos' pass for Palmers goal was what they are supposed to be able to do all game, but can't. Nothing is getting better under Pochettino, but plenty is getting worse.
Has to be thinking about an extra defender surely. They’re so out of form I don’t hold much hope but he has to make a noticeable change somewhere to make it look like he’s doing something about it.
The press is all over Chelseas' problem with FFP rules if Poch is sacked. Also apparently someone is finally looking at the 2/3 recruitment people and the whole idea of youth only imports on 8 year contracts. Not before time. That has failed miserably and seems not to be Pochs' fault, as he has had little to no say in who comes in or out. If true, then he might deserve a little slack. But not his selections. He has to do something and quick to save his reputation and probably job. Seems to me he has 2 choices . 1. Change the whole set up and go to 3 at the back. Hopefully one is Colwill, plus Disasi and Badashiel, with Fofana and Trevoh to return. The first 3 have been switched and changed so much they've all gone backwards, but have all got ability. Silva for me is done and almost dusted, and needs to play far less often , he's just too slow in attack and defence. That would put Chilwell and Gusto in a position to attack which they can both do. It might not be how to set up with better experienced players ,but might work again for the short term. 2. Forget about climbing into the top half for this season and instead really sort out which kids are keepers, lenders or sellers by playing them all far more often , at the expense of ladder position.
Am officially in the Poch out camp as well now. He is far from the biggest or only thing wrong at Chelsea for sure, but he is not making the best out of this, admittedly, second rate squad. We should not be conceding 4 goals at home to Wolves. People can harp on about our **** signings, but there is a reason clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool were looking to pay £100m for players like Caicedo and Mudryk. They didnt just become ****. They were overpriced for sure, as is everyone these days, but Poch is not getting the best out of this squad. Some of his decisions and tactics are baffling. Might as well get rid. Bring in Thomas Frank.
Poch reckons he has been receiving "Good texts" from the owners about Chelsea. Can we interpret this as the dreaded "vote of confidence" all managers receive usually 2 weeks before they are **** canned? I hope so!
Quite likely, he's showing all the signs of being really rattled and making some bizarre statements. Did you see him denying what Chilwell said after Wolves despite it being on video?? Weird thing to do, but stress does weird things.
