I maintain to this day that Mike Dean was desperate to get that to 10-0. It was just so blatantly awful refereeing. And I’m not talking about the early red. He wanted to be in the record books indirectly I think
It was a litany of poor decisions, all leaning in one direction. The Leicester result we deserved. The Man U one was appalling. I think I remember Dean actually apologised for it much later?
But hey, we're 2nd in our League, which equals being the 22nd best team the whole FL and we're watching something pretty special, these memories obliterate all those dark days for me.
For a while, were we not the only team to have scored five goals in the first half, and five in the second half of games ?
Yeah I think Liverpool were the first team to match it last season. 5 first half in 9-0 v Bournemouth and 5 second half in 7-0 against United
Scarred, terribly scarred! That might or might not be why I am a bitter old man. Growing up in the IOW ghetto, might have some bearing.
You've got the perfect storm of a Northumberland birth and an Island upbringing. No wonder you're bitter!
To my brother in Southampton, I am a miserable northerner. To my brother in Newcastle, I am a soft southerner.
I thought that Ipswich's stats of Saturday showed thy had the better of the game against PNE. Ithink ot is too soon to write them off.
Yep, agree Ipswich still look very good. Their form has dipped but they still look a very good side at this level. We will have to be exceptional all season to steal an autos place.
Fixtures at the top on Saturday: Ipswich v West Brom 12:30 Leeds v Rotherham 15:00 Saints v Huddersfield 15:00 Watford v Leicester 15:00 Ipswich have the toughest game, could be more points dropped and potentially an opportunity to open up some breathing room over them, something that we absolutely need to do in these games with a handful of tough away games coming up. Expect Leeds to win comfortably at home to Rotherham and Watford are in poor form so shouldn't be an issue for Leicester either.
