Whatever financial punishments are planned, his
non-THFC assets are several times greater in value.

Odd outcome from Aston Villa fielding an ineligible player in their 7-0 win over Sunderland in the Women's League Cup. Sunderland have been awarded the 3 points which means they now win the group and go through to the quarter finals. But Villa go through as well as one of the two second placed teams with the best records. As a consequence, Man Utd, who would have had one of those places had Sunderland lost, are out.

Did they forget to dock Everton another 10 points?

Surely the obvious punishment would be to disqualify Villa?

The important word there is obvious - that would mean applying logic when has that ever happened in football?

They applied the obvious punishment actually....docking them the points they earned in which the match they fielded the ineligible player. They were already winning easily when she came on. It would be very harsh to fine them further points for matches where they didn't break the rules. I think the decision was correct even if the outcome was weird.

    R.I.P Jonnie Irwin <rose>
His battle with cancer was very public. He seemed to have lived well beyond his initial prognosis, then suddenly he’s dead. I don’t have any particular interest in his work as a TV presenter, but his story touches me because it’s a reminder of how fragile life can be. When you see someone of a similar age, with dependent children, losing their battle for life before their time, it is a stark warning of your own mortality and how you shouldn’t take life for granted and make the most of every day.

Well said LDL , I liked the way jonnie always tried to put a positive spin on trying to flog a 20x20 Spanish box to a retired couple from Halifax with £5000 to spend

    RIP <rose>
Very sad and as you say, highlights the vulnerability of life.
Make what you can of it for as long as you can!!
