not saying it’s a big deal I’m just sick of hearing about the place I’ve never once looked at it and all that’s said about it is it’s a ****e place so don’t get the obsession of mentioning it!
It's rarely mentioned outside of transfer windows tbh mate ... ... I'll pay more attention in future, trust me.
Honestly it’s mentioned a lot I just don’t get it because it’s never positive. not arsed but I come on here because it’s sound and don’t get why people are mentioning other places that are apparently absolutely ****e ha makes no sense to me
I was in Belfast in October and there was talk of the redevelopment at Casement Park. I think it was suggested that it might be used as part of the joint Euros bid. I did a bit of research into hurling a few years back when I was thinking about doing some writing about the history of sport. I think the earliest reference is 5th or 6th century and there are definitely some very early depictions of hurleys (I think they're called caman in gaelic) on things like gravestones. I'm really interested in ancient sports- like that and the Mayan ball game.
Football has moved on, especially for clubs like ours. Clubs aren't going out signing a Darren Bent anymore. The out and out striker doesn't really exist anymore. It's all wing play and playing out from the back (blame Pep for that). Trouble is, we needed a striker... so did everyone else. I myself have questioned the logic of the seemingly less need for a striker, but when you sit back and look at it, as I've said above, the game has moved on. Other than Rigg against Southampton, when was the last time we scored with a cross from the wing in open that ended up with a bullet header into the net? There will be one or 2, but I can't think at present.
I'm not sure the Mayans played that game tbh. I've been to Chitchen Itza and what they think was the field/court seems far too big for what they think the game was. They'd have to have an arm like Dan Marino.
Overall, happy with the window. Got 3 players in who will be knocking on the door of the first team. Sent a few out on loan who are still a bit away from the first team. Re the striker - its up to one of them 3 left there to step up!
The court at Chichen Itza is particularly big compared to others (I've been too). I think there is an explanation for why it's so large but I can't remember what it is!
I'd say Rusyn has already stepped up and it's up to us to give him the ball when and where he wants it. He's been like that since day one.

I like football and the most important thing is to help the team. I need to play and it’s a good opportunity for me to play for this amazing team. “This morning was good. We have a good team, good players here, and the guys are amazing. Training was good and I’m excited for the rest of the season.” “At Sunderland I felt good; it’s a good, big team. I have a lot of friends there and the guys were amazing. “The Championship was different, and it was a tough league. I was happy there, but I am young, so I need to and want to play. I love Sunderland, it’s a good team, good city and I felt good.” “I think my natural position is as a striker. I feel really, really good when I play as a number 9, but I can also play as a left or right winger. The gaffer will decide, but the most important thing is to help the team. “I’m a good player. I’m fast, I like dribbling, I like to score goals and I’m strong and intelligent.” Mayenda will at least know someone at Hibernian straight away, with Sunderland teammate Nectarios Triantis also making the loan switch to Easter Road. “Nectar is my friend,” Mayenda said. “We have a good relationship and I’m very happy for him because this is a good opportunity for him to play here too. He’s a very good defender so I’m happy for him.
Poor kid's deluded ... ... we all know Sunderland has a toxic atmosphere, with an owner who betrayed the fans and a dictator from Birmingham who actually runs it. No wonder Alex Neil walked out and went onto greater things.
