Well of course she influences the young to turn out and vote prompting the attacks which grow increasingly desperate and bizarre. The number of artists dissociating themselves from Trump and the republicans doing their best to prevent use of their material at rallies many issuing cease and desist orders grows.

Not seen it mentioned here but reports say that there are another 40 councils on the verge of declaring bankruptcy, along with the 7 that already have.
The list includes Hampshire County Council and Southampton City Council. SCC are said to be considering selling off assets to the value of £80(?) million, which would cover it’s debt and leave some money over, but the cynic in me wonders what scrotes, with contacts to the government, would make a killing from buying the assets.
Starmer says that the government are telling councils to increase Council Tax by the maximum amount, to try to cover some of their shortfall and the IMF is strongly stating that the government should NOT be cutting taxes at the next budget and have reduced the UK growth forecast to 0.6%.
I think the odds are high that Inheritance Tax will be scrapped, at the next budget, if the stories are to be believed, but good governance would suggest (IMO) leaving it as it is and using the money to help the councils. Could actually be a vote winner for a few MPs, if they can convince voters that the shortage of money being centrally allocated to the councils is not their doing, in the first place.

I was thinking that Trump is more Henry Hoover - open him up and there's a complete vacuum between the ears

Another brexshit triumph. From Linkedin posted yesterday.
"Contact my colleague Leon or myself for more information about the #Piping opportunities at TRS. We are looking for senior #Designers (S3D / E3D) and #LeadPiping candidates. *only EU candidates due to valid work permits."

I enjoyed watching a short video of Rees Smug being schooled by a farmer on how badly farming and agriculture has suffered as a result of Brexit.
At one point the farmer explained that some farmers were no longer growing fruit and vegetables for the UK market but switching to creating vineyards, and Smug’s response was “that is good as their land would be worth more”.
I’m no expert in this but if there are fewer farmers in the UK growing fruit and vegetables surely that will lead to more imported produce and further damage the UK market, and threaten more price increases/inflation.
The interview ended with Smug cutting the farmer off because he was too intelligent to accept Smug’s flawed views on how Brexit was a benefit.

In a nuclear war, they say the only thing to survive will be cockroaches.
Which means the UK will still have a functioning government.

    That’s the one.
On the topic of no migrant workers to pick fruit and veg, no shortage here in Spain as I regularly witness when out and about.
Saw a bunch picking Jerusalem artichokes yesterday and regularly see them in orange and lemon groves.

From the BBC live coverage of the trial of the murder of Brianna Ghey

"Mrs Justice Yip tells Scarlett Jenkinson, "a huge amount of work will need to be done with you first" if she is ever to be released.

She says the hope remains that this "can happen" and says Jenkinson should work hard on her rehabilitation"

Yes, that's what we should all hope for. That some psychopathic, transphobic murdering scumbag is released from prison one day and gets a second chance of life. What the actual hell?

She's a kid. If we don't have the hope that people can change and grow, then we might as well execute everyone who commits a serious crime. A young person's mind can be filled with hate. They are receptacles. I don't agree that anyone is beyond reform, remorse and meaningful change.

You seem to think we should hope she just dies in prison. Why is hoping she genuinely changes a worse option than that?

Agreed. It’s an awful heinous crime, but I thoroughly recommend people read The Devil You Know by Dr Gwen Adshead (who worked for many years at Broadmoor, with the criminally insane). Some people can’t be changed, but it shouldn’t stop us from trying.

I'm generally pro immigration but think it's mental that we granted a sex offender asylum despite them being rejected twice previously.

Any attack with corrosive substances are horrendous too. Should be minimum ten year sentence if not more.
