Celtic got extremely lucky with players like VVD 10 years ago but that will no longer apply. Spending circa 2 to 3 millions euros on a player and getting a return of 10 to 15 million is no longer going to happen.

teams like Celtic need to spend their transfer budget on 3 to 4 decent quality players every summer. They have the squad in place . You can add depth to that through free transfers , small fees and youth .

To progress , they need to add actual 1st team players .

Approx 5 to 8 millions euros per player .

If rangers win the league this season, the move away form current small profits to large profits and cash in bank.
