I think we needed a creative midfielder much more than a Field/Colback clone. We struggle to get the ball forward, apart from the odd hoof for Armstrong to chase. Hayden won't change this.
Beggars can't be choosers me old mate, I think everyone is looking for one of them + a 20 season goal striker. We're in no position to sign either of them and I didn't think we would sign anyone given the vibes coming out of the club. I'm happy to roll with it and see where it gets us, I thought we were doomed regardless. If it works out great, if not nothing has been lost as the rules change in our favour if we drop. Gulp!
Yeah, I get it, but Hayden just seems like another Karl Henry. The lad Hodge might be more interesting.
We better have a ****ing good training session tomorrow, integrate the 3 new signings into the side rapidly and hope all 3 of them do the biz. Let's hope all 3 are fit to start v Blackburn
I thought the same, but I wasn't expecting any new signings after the new CEO interview. Maybe he's pulled a few out of the hat, maybe not, we'll have to wait and see. Three new signings and maybe a fourth with Anderson, hopefully they can help us out of this nightmare. I was expecting nothing!
I think what people might be missing with Hayden - having texted my Newcastle mate - is that he is very versatile. Can play CM, CB or fullback. He's decent at the level we are at, and we could do with cover at right back and CB as well as for Field and Colback. I think he's a good signing.
In other circumstances you might have a point, but we need to start winning games. Hayden isn't going to win us anything.
Only trouble is that was almost 7 and a half years ago ! **** me Shelvey scored twice in that game and Where's he now ?
He held the back four together and let Shelvey run the show, I think Rafa Benitiz owned us that night, Jeez it was grim.
