My fibre broadband delivers over 73mbps downloads and over 23mbps uploads - that does its bit, but does nothing about my own speeds. Everything else can be blamed on Brexit though.
van Hooijdonk on loan with a view to a permanent deal, with Idah only loaned out, would lead to a bit of a logjam up front this summer? Sargent, van Hooijdonk, Idah, Barnes, Kamara. At least 3 of them will expect to be first choice. Good cover if one is sold at least.
Barnes is 34 he has one more year on his contract, maybe that was so he could teach the dark arts to our players for a year and we have an option of selling him if we want or need to or keeping him for another year. Idah obviously has potential, but is frustrating. So A loan to Scotland may help build his confidence at a slightly lower level or we will see him still flattering to deceive and get rid in the summer. Getting this dutch player as a try before you buy is also good, no Van Winkleing us these days!
Got my days wrong and was expecting the window to have closed last night, so was a bit surprised to see that neither deal had been completed yet
Apparently Placheta is set to move to Swansea. https://www.birminghamworld.uk/spor...-norwich-birmingham-city-championship-4501120
Placheta is more of an attacking winger than a full back. That’s another player off our books. We also seem to have been less active in bringing in Mikey Johnston. Probably a replacement for Rowe if he went. This seems doubtful now.
According to Transfermarkt: Gibson Batth Giannoulis Placheta Sorenson Barden McCallum No ideah if any of those have specific extensions, personally only McCallum as backup & perhaps Batth to keep, the remainder wouldn't be a major loss, especially with Gibson's obscene wages
That's a frightening list given our financial state. Looks like we'll be back in the bargain cellar in the summer if they all leave.
I really don't share in the pessimism Giannoulis- apparently we have a youngster who is performing well and is ready to step up. I would imagine he is on fairly good wages. He is a good player in the Championship, but if McCallum signs an extension I am not too bothered Gibson - I really want him to do well, but always has a mistake/ game in him and is on 40k/ week, which we can't afford McCallum- Now I think he would me a miss if he didn't sign an extention, I think he has been getting better as the season has progressed Placheta - Yes he's fast, but other than that, what can he actually do? I would say he is a worse Hernandez Sorenson - We have a year option which I expect we will activate Batth - Year option as well, I think he should have got more game time when Handley was injured Barden - I suppose it depends on how he has recovered from his cancer, hopefully it didn't set him back too much as I know there were high hopes for him
