https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwic...nas-sydney-van-hooijdonk-norwich-city-target/ Bologna's Sydney Van Hooijdonk a Norwich City target
I agree with our potential to do well for the rest of the season considering how much we have improved since Sargent and Sainz have come back into the team, but I don't see why Idah should go out on loan. Should Sargent be injured again, we'd be left with Barnes as our only striker. Idah wants playing time, but he had ample chances for that when Sargent was out. There could be a case for a loan if Van Hooijdonk comes in first, but we can't afford the risk otherwise. Also, there's no way we should let Rowe go if we want any chance this season.
Assume this is sadly just chucking mud in the air to see if it sticks? https://x.com/TheEuropeanLad/status/1752362315171676357?s=20
Seems the lad has a possible choice between us and Celtic. He would probably be part of a team destined to win some silver wear in the Scottish PL. If he is as good as he seems, then let’s hope we can attract him to Norfolks fine city.
Looks like Van Hooijdonk has agreed to join us on loan leading to a permanent signature. If true I'm pretty excited , nobody mention Van Wolfswinkel. Idah to Celtic now rumoured
We are rumoured to be interested in Cheick Conde if we decide not to pursue Varane any further. 23 year old Guinean DM currently playing for FC Zurich. Looks strong, quick and with good feet in the below highlight reel.
I can see Norwich selling, I think it's unlikely that Giannoulis re-signs so recouping a fee might be helpful.
Ida h to Celtic looks almost certain as they are not going for van Hooijdonk now. Loan with option to buy apparently.
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/norwich-city-close-in-on-bologna-player/ Norwich City close in on Bologna player Patience has run out for many city fans with Idah , he still has potential to come good but if we can offload with a fee & replace him with another young striker with potential I would consider that good business.
I personally think we will regret losing Idah if we do, however at this moment in time he isn't as good as Sargent, and without playing regularly he may never reach his potential so he needs to go to develop.
It seems like an eternity since he got that FA Cup hat trick & 100 appearances for the first team is enough to prove he's good enough. The guy is disappointed at the lack of starts but clearly he's nowhere near Sargent's level . If Van Hooijdonk comes in & impresses then that will be great business. Realistically you need 2 strikers that get goals to compete at this level & results dropped off a cliff when Sargent & Barnes got injured .
Apparently the paperwork for van Hooijdonk is being finalised at this time, so almost a done deal. This will trigger Adam's move to Celtic.
If the rumour is true I could absolutely see the sense in this. I like Gianoulis and this would be a good move for him plus give us some finances to invest in his replacement
He's a Greek International out of contract in the summer 30 years old , if we get a few quid back then that's good business
Should Dimi move on, there could be a readymade replacement: "Guilherme Montoia is ready and raring to go for his big Norwich City opportunity whenever it arrives - with both senior left-backs out of contract come the summer. The Portuguese international has impressed for City's U21s this season and is highly rated at Carrow Road since making a summer move from Benfica. Montoia is waiting in the wings whilst Sam McCallum and Dimi Giannoulis continue their work in David Wagner's first team, knowing they are both out of contract in the summer with no talks having been held so far. Should Norwich elect not to renew their current deals, that could present a chance for Montoia in the first team next season, and the 20-year-old is ready to grasp that opportunity if it arrives in the coming months. "I can't lie, it is (my target), but let's see. Life and football change fast, so we never know, but I try to work towards it every day," Montoia told the Pink Un. There is always an opportunity for all of us as long as we're prepared. We're all prepared to take the next step if needed, so it's not just me but everyone. (The history of playing youth) was a major factor for me in joining the club. I really believe in the process that the club has for young players and the academy - it's a great club, and the atmosphere inside the academy is great." Montoia formed part of City's recruitment drive that brought a host of young talent to the club last summer alongside the likes of Emmanuel Adeboyega, Vicente Reyes and Daniel Ogwuru." https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/24087109.guilherme-montoia-ready-norwich-city-opportunity/
Idah going to Celtic on loan only, no option to buy. Hooijdonk on his way to UK for a medical with us.
