More young lads in an already very young squad though. We can all see we need some players ready to hit the ground round running ideally with a fair bit of football at this level and the first 2 by the looks of it are both 20 year old lads with potential but no experience. Just more young lads who’ll be sat on the bench making us no better imo but we’ll see!
Hjelde played about 10 games for Rotherham that’s hardly experience mate. Bennette was a back up winger. I’m not saying they’re ****e by any means I’ve barely seen any of them kick of a ball I’m just not sure more young lads are what we need when we’re crying out for experience.
really like this quote from Leo Leo said: “It feels great to be here and I’m grateful for the opportunity. I spoke to my dad, who showed me the size of the club and the support, and I knew it was a move I simply I couldn’t turn down. I’m a ball-playing centre back, or left back, and I like to get up and down the pitch. I’ve been at some big Clubs previously and this has helped me develop as a player and as a person, but I’m now ready to push on and take the next step.”
Are we? I struggle with this because it's not a quantifiable thing, I think we need some good players I don't care if they have played in the championship. Also, aren't you always going on about how players don't need experience? I seem to remember you talking about Conway at Bristol City recently when people were saying we needed a 'championship proven forward' and you brought him up as an example of why we didn't need that. Almost as if you're just trying to be a contrarian?
Funny thing, talking to one if the “negative brigade” this morning. He’s complaining about no signings. Then says Boro have signed “Luke somebody who we were after”. I ask if he’s any good, he doesn’t know. I then mention that Hjelde is nearly done, he says ‘who’s he, never heard of him”. Embarrassing! Never heard of the lad Boro signed, complaining we didn’t sign him, we sign someone he’s never heard of, complaining because he doesn’t know him! Some of our so called fans are ridiculous!
On the "experience" thing. I agree it would be good to sign a couple of player who have played 100 or so Championship games. They could still be 23/24. But I also think that experience is mostly needed in the middle. I'm relaxed about signing wingers that are young and exciting. I'd like our midfield to have a player with experience in it.
If when we came up to the Championship and said that we would get to the playoffs and are on the fringe of the playoffs again this year I would have snapped your hand off , the new management team have rejuvenated the club in a good way . The fact that we are a young team does not alter the fact that we are one of the best teams in what is being regarded as one of the strongest most competitive championship leagues for a long time and the KIDS are more than holding their own . The value of our squad compared to around five years ago is immense compared to the mercenaries , journeymen , and has been that wore our shirt - As for me I think KLD and Speakman have done well and the Kids are doing more than alright long may it continue !!!
So, your autocorrect is likely to add an I into MLF, which obviously means you use the term regularly…..
What was it or is there no hint, think it was always a goer once the the lad said he wanted to play in the prem
