Very pleasantly surprised, thought it would be Benson. Brooks is a lovely player. Well done Saints, would be my first choice.
Surprised Bournemouth are letting him go. I admit I know little about their squad, but they have a decent chance of a cup run this year and you would expect Brooks to be a very useful player for that. Expect him to be eased in gently for us(much like Fraser) No need to push him too soon
I was absolutely gutted watching him tear Swansea apart because it clearly demonstrated why Bournemouth wouldn't consider letting him leave. Just watched the BBC half time coverage at Blackburn tonight and they practically announced his imminent arrival. I couldn't quite believe it so came here to see if there was proof. I believe nothing without a Saint! thread. Over the moon with this. It's a "chase down Leicester" signing.
He is a great player and I can attest that he is a great lad from a lovely family too. Perfect for Russell's newly-formed culture
I don’t think Brooks was satisfied with that being his role and wants to play regularly, particularly with the Euros coming up. Assume Bournemouth would rather have kept him but are happy to cede to his wishes.
From what I understand, David pushed for this and the club don't really want to hold him back from getting his career firing again.
He appears to have two feet, which is nice to know. That free kick with his left for the first goal was world class.
That's a really good signing. I expected him to be pushing for a regular place in Bomprey's first team, especially after his recent run of form. He should improve us quite a bit if he clicks with RussBall
Had a look on a Bournemouth forum to see what they thought of letting Brooks go. Vast majority are incredibly bitter, hate us and want him to go anywhere but to us. It's quite funny really. Strange bunch. We're all just excited about a good player hopefully coming to us for the rest of the season and a little surprised that they would let him go at all.
Strange really. Small club mentality from Bournemouth - guessing they are scared about playing us again.
Yeah it’s strange isn’t it. There’s real & volume animosity towards us from the obvious PO mob & now Bournemouth. Of course we have some towards Pompey but definitely not as aggressive nor volume wise & virtually nothing towards Bompey. We must be doing something right!
Also assume that this will be a positive in keeping KWP - give him even more opportunity to shine in partnership with Brooks....
