As I've said before I can see what we tried to do with the slow play, I just feel we are more dangerous playing faster and more direct. As always there will need to be a mix and today was a very good example of how more direct can work
There were definitely more direct passes forward, not quite long balls but on the ground looking for feet or a gap. Rusyn will be ideal for this style of play especially if Clarke stays up the pitch like he did today to link up with him. It was much more positive which is what I wanted to see.
Firstly, Pritchard can do one. There’s “wanting a move” and refusing to play. I don’t care what the board have done or what’s gone on behind the scenes, massive disrespect to the fans and fellow teammates from a player we all wanted starting. most importantly though, the game. Great for Burstow off the mark. Had a decent game too. Made a few great runs, think he took defenders away from Ba for his goal too. Dan Ballard is absolutely superb. Seelt will become a first choice player. Absolutely cracking game. Ba, excellent and a lovely cool finish for his goal, honestly thought he’d given it away with the pass to Ekwah! But it was pinpoint! That header from Ekwah to set it up too! Wow. Great all around performance. Not always scintillating, but some lovely moves. Some shaky stuff too! Dan Neil is going to be a cracking player in the premier! Hopefully for us, but he’s destined for it.
Just thought I'd check as you in particular have named me as spouting negative bile and I thought I'd ask so I know where the land lies
Yeah, direct is probably the wrong word as it insinuates a Wimbledon like approach. Like you say they where measured through balls
Just home from the game. Very good performance. Not perfect but much better. Bit of a mess at times first half but much much better second very good on the break or transition as we have to say these days. Big shout out to these young lads after this last weeks shenanigans. They will have been well aware of all the social media abuse but fair play to them they stood up to a man MOM Seelt for me shame about the OG he didn’t deserve it. I’m a big Pritchard fan and haven’t heard anything other than the club statement No idea what’s going on but if he’s refusing to play he can **** off and be quick about it
That was a very enjoyable game to watch. We were better all over the pitch, with some very good performances from everyone involved. The fullbacks were making plenty of overlapping runs and Jack was cutting infield much deeper than he previously has and he passed the ball much more frequently than previous games. Ballard made some really good bursts forward bringing the ball out of defence and Patto's distribution was spot on today. Ba was tremendous today and deserved his goal. A great performance from all concerned, including MB and the coaches. We have nothing to fear from the Smoggies next week
No big deal yet you called me out and said you would leave if no-one liked your post about it? Have I been negative at all this week? Or does my concerns about the off field issues (that I haven't mentioned for over a week) bother you that much?
Definitely. I was very surprised how poor they were on an individual basis. Garbage. They did get their chances mind, and we will have to step it up again against the Boro.
Well done Lads today. At end of day everything feels a whole lot better on a Saturday after a win. Let's kick on now
Missed the whole game today ( hospital), anywhere I can watch the full game? Haven't even seen the goals yet!!
Thought the reception when Gooch went off was great as well. Showed us in a really.good light for such a loyal and dedicated player
