Unbelievably, the first result in the next round is in: nearly everyone got one point from a correct result (sorry Joe) but no-one got the correct score.

The second game for us is the FA Cup tie between Bournemouth and Swansea at 7:45pm today (Thursday).

 

Been incredibly quiet everywhere in football this week. Expect it might be a bit livelier next week before the window slams shut on Thursday.

Let this be a salutary lesson about what you read on the internet. Contrary to what I said at the start of this round, there ARE replays in the FA Cup 4th Round, hence the fact the Bristol City v Nottingham Forest game has ended as a 0-0 draw.

Since we're predicting results at the end of 11 v 11 play, that is before either penalties or a replay, it doesn't really matter, but apologies for any confusion nevertheless.

This current round of the prediction league seems to be going on forever doesn't it? There are some decent scores already with 3 games left to play, particularly from Sensible.

Bearing in mind there's a tight turnaround I thought I'd say that the Super Match will be Swansea v Argyle, not because both have followers in this group but because the two teams are in in 15th position (Argyle) and 16th (Swansea) separated merely on goal difference. Both have won 8 and drawn 9 and are on 33 points. It probably doesn't make a difference to how you forecast but now you know.....
