Aye. He's been here 5 weeks and is already pushing the last throw of the dice buttons - he'll be gone in 10 weeks max - can't manage at all. Mcmenemy was a huge disappointment but that's coz he had won an fa cup and overachieved at saints before coming to safc. Beale is just very quickly mimicking his worst spell at rangers - no wonder nobody wants the fool at safc despite his media spin/lies.
And there you go again, did someone elect you spokesman for the entire support or did you just decide you know best?
Did you suggest we appoint Michael Beale at any point following Mowbray leaving? Did anyone bar speakman?
I've no idea and neither do you. You said no one wants Beale at the club but you're speaking on behalf of 40,000 people. It's better if you just speak for yourself imo.
Probably up there with one of the most unpopular appointments, blokes never been given a chance by a fair few fans. In my lifetime (39) I think parkinson is the worst appointment I can remember but even he wasn't met with such abuse online and in forums from the start, maybe being league 1 with the chancers people didn't expect much so kind of got on with it, plus won his 1st game so maybe got a bit of grace. The whole thing is getting ridiculous now with the same comments over and over from supporters for and against him and with beale rising to it with the outsiders and accent comment. Nows the time for supporters to come together and back the team and coach and the coach to stay quiet and do the talking on the pitch, only way to win people over if possible.
Quite right, I'll be there doing just that tomorrow ... ... I've not defended Beale but I certainly won't be condemning him as quickly as some already have.
For me last season we played some of the best football we have played for a long time! Looked a very exciting attacking team and scored some incredible team goals along the way just losing out cause injuries and a bit naivety caught up with us at the back end of the season, but expectations had been raised hugely because of it This season hasn’t had the same feel from the start. We signed some exciting players but the balance just hasn’t been right! We have gone from a fast attacking side to a side that’s using a slow build up trying to find a perfect pass. Mowbray obviously wasn’t happy with what he ‘had been given’ called it out and at that point ‘in the Speakman fall out’ there’s now way back so had to go. At that point the press/social media had us linked with some exciting prospects which again raised expectations massively! Beale then becomes a massively disappointing selection and some fans just won’t take to after the expectations of recent season and press talk He had an opportunity though to win those over by at least competing against them up the road but ‘in my opinion’ we never had a go! We’ve been even slower and more ponderous since he took over than we were before! Honestly believe we are a better side than we have showed this season and that’s what will be irking a lot of fans cause you’d expect a new manager to come in and get that out of this squad He hasn’t done himself any favours with his persona and language in interviews so has probably made a big job almost impossible!
We are different mate, you must have missed the memo. We are a unique club and fan base whereby you need to speak a certain way, act a certain way and understand why we need to be coached differently to any elite club. There is a thread on laughing at the mags on here and a lot is about their self entitlement. We have matched them and some. What a soppy lot we have become, at least in minority terms. Sleep time now for me. Match to be won tomorrow...
Good assessment imo. I think Beale has suffered in the public eye by trying to make us more solid and hard to beat, which is usually the sensible way to go, but we were accustomed to playing like Barcelona, albeit that was a while ago and we'd actually been ordinary under Mowbray for some time. Also true that Beale would be best off keeping out of it and not stoking the flames. I understand why he's responded to the criticism, he's only human, but if he's sticking around (might well be given the contract length) he should dial it back until he's won people over.
Let’s not pretend that Michael Beale is ‘elite’. We’ve put up with an awful lot of **** over the years. The new regime were doing very well on the road to putting that right - but this appointment was a ‘brave’ move. Beale wouldn’t be in anyone’s top 10 list after Mowbray. He’s done nothing to help that. I don’t think it helps to say that fans are being OTT when they don’t want him here. The personal abuse isn’t on. But I certainly didn’t want him. I want him even less after the last few days. Like I say, let’s hope for a result today…
Well out of those 3 I’d say Coventry was more Dodds as he’d just landed on the door step but I for 1 will give him time his use of subs winds me up but I’ll bide me passion
Should be buzzing to watch the lads in 12 hours time. Instead, dreading watching a side managed by that dour idiot. Beale out.
But some posters can't, due to them queuing up to tell people how right they were when he is relieved of his duties
We aren't his peers though. We are fans. His peers do respect him. It's just us, with our subbuteo/sensible soccer level of knowledge who don't.
I doubt anyone is suggesting they would do a better job but surely 20 years of coaching he’d make a better go of it? Maybe stop playing players out of position? Or drop players out of form? Or maybe stick with a player that’s just had a good game? Don’t need to have been a coach for 20 years to see the shapes stinking and we’ve gone backwards quite quickly.
Our fans love a manager who "tells it like it is"... Until he speaks a few uncomfortable truths at them and then grown men who like no bullshit conversation, suddenly become so precious. It's canny embarrassing at the minute to be honest
There's two things to this really. Firstly, it looked to me against Hull he wanted 3 of the front 5 to rotate. Pritch was nominally on the right but when he wasn't there, Rusyn seemed to be popping up on the right. Whether my assessment is accurate or not, the second thing is this. Do you not think there might be a reason why a coach with his experience is not playing an out and out right winger when he has one available in the form of Ba? Maybe it's that despite his direct running, Ba has little end product. Maybe he thought that playing Pritch there might give us more creativity. This suggestion that he's just doing things for no reason doesn't make sense.
the same ba who got a good assist for Clarke the other day? The same ba that’s scored a couple of goals already this season? I’ve not said he’s doing things for no reason what I am saying is they don’t make sense! Rusyn gets his first goal then is dropped to play jobe upfront. ba played well assisted then was dropped for pritch to be played out of position.
Exactly. So why would he do that? He's not going to do it for the hell of it so he must have a reason. It might not make sense to the people who don't work with the players everyday in training but it will make sense to the people who do.
Didn't we go for Schumacher first? But he wanted to bring in his own coaching staff so it fell through. Getting vibes of Bullseye here, "Let's look at what you could have won" We are like the contestants who live in Nottingham and won a speedboat
