Well it's a rumour at least, make what you will of the fence sitting conclusion to the article: "There has been a long-held desire for a more defensively-minded midfielder, with sporting director Ben Knapper keen to reduce the age of their first-team group in the future. It's understood, however, that it is unlikely Norwich will look to complete any incoming business in this transfer window, with a renewed effort to prepare for the summer." At €2.5m spread out in installments, this could be a reasonable 22 year old replacement for Forshaw. According to TransferMarkt he's 6'2" and a CM who can also play as a CAM.
This one suggests we have put a bid in https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/norwich-city-submit-bid-for-qpr-target-jonathan-varane/
The Pinkun now denying that a bid has been made, but they don't rule out interest in Varlane: "Reports of a City ‘bid’ are wide of the mark, however, but the Norwich boss knows plenty can still happen to alter the balance of his squad between now and deadline night. “We have our eyes on everything. We will see what happens right until the end of the window. But I will not comment on any individuals,” he said. “There are two further games to play until the window closes. A lot of things can happen in these two games." After the next two games there are 16 more to play. That's a long time to go without replacing Hwang and Forshaw.
Not to mention the squad options of Springett and Warner although Hanley and Sainz returns to fitness are most likely their replacements
Nort a new signing, but a name to look out for on the future, who has signed his first professional contract with City - Elliot Myles
https://therealefl.co.uk/2024/01/26/norwich-city-set-to-battle-it-out-for-18-year-old/ another one for the pot?
Apparently hasn't noticed that the numbers have changed significantly since the last international break. You have to give these guys some credit, though, for their ability to conjure column injuries and clicks out of ....... well, thin air!
A round up of transfers coming in and those going out, so far: In: so far zero. Rumours about Varane are just that (at the moment). Out: on loan Warner and Springett, free transfer - Forshaw. It seems that Placheta is free to leave if he can find a club. From what I understand, Varane was a replacement for Forshaw. Hwang has also left (for good?) injured. There has been no replacement rumoured for Hwang, as far as I am aware.
Rowe to West Ham !!!! https://talksport.com/football/1726980/west-ham-everton-norwich-rowe-transfer-news/
Godfrey to Leeds to reunite with Farke !!!!!!!!! https://www.footballinsider247.com/...al-approach-to-everton-over-ben-godfrey-deal/
Talk sport talks sh*ite. This has more substance. Poor Ben has never made inroads at Everton; only 3 appearances this year. Doubt that Leeds will pay more than £30m, so no sell on for us.
Idah rumoured to be on the radar of Verona. They want a loan-to-buy which is very unlikely to be acceptable to management. Does anybody know if Hwang is returning once his injury has improved?
It suggests that Knapper knows exactly who he wants, and is not interested in "who's available right now" fixes. It is quite possible, for instance, that he is after Varane, who has now said he doesn't want to move at this juncture. If Varane is indeed a target, the pursuit will now shift to the summer.
