He is right that it's not okay to hurl personal insults.... but he's wrong that there's any substance to them. He wasn't popular. But he's made it 10x worse by just not using common sense when engaging. And the performances I've seen, and stats show, we are getting worse, not better. No new manager bounce. We aren't playing anywhere near what we can. It might be wrong man, wrong club, wrong time. I don't know, but he's not winning anyone over with anything right now. Also keeps talking about supporting the players, they were clapped off.
Also agreed. He's on a hiding to nothing taking us on from such a position of weakness. If he'd won 5 games, played good football and we were criticising him then I could understand some of the comments but he has zero credit in the bank. Just another snake oil salesman like streaky Lee
He basically said many fans didn't want him in first place so nothing he does will change that. Not his fault mogga was sacked. Same problems now than in Moggas last 9 games. He's been at big clubs so deserves a bit of respect. His CV is good etc Good relationship with KLD and Speakman. Again, I read it and thought 'fair play' but others think it's divisive and 'explosive'. The whole thing has become embarrassing tbh. I saw one of the WMS pod boys describing the Hull game as the worst display he'd ever seen. I mean, come on. Get real. Capt fishpaste is on a personal crusade against him which is good for clicks but absolutely embarrassing. Some of his takes are just ridiculous but he's doing a good job of building an online agenda.
See, and without wishing to offend anyone, this seems like a fundamental misunderstanding on the part of the fanbase to me. Performances were dropping away under Mowbray. Mowbray is a good coach. Beale is also a good coach. Beale has the same players to work with as Mowbray, there are still the same gaps in the squad, the injury situation has arguably gotten slightly worse. There are only so many options open to him to change things up. A new manager bounce usually occurs when a team is really struggling in the league. A new manager comes in and the first thing he does is make the team hard to beat, parks the bus. Results pick up on the back of that. Beale hasn't had to do that. He's had to try and keep the same team playing in the same kind of way. One non-league manager I know reckons a manager makes at most 10% difference to any given team. I think that's modesty on his part because he's very good but it's reflective of the fact that it's the players on the pitch who have to do the majority of the work. There is only so much a manager can do if the players can't or won't follow his instructions. Stats don't tell the full story. They should never been used out of context and a falling xG doesn't fully reflect how dominant were against Hull, for example. Beale is right, some minor things fall our way and we could have got results from both Ipswich and Hull. If that had been the case, the conversation around him may have been different. The margins are very fine. Years ago, Graham Taylor was sacked by Wolves because they were relegated. They lost their last game 2-1. They hit the bar in the final minute. An inch lower, they draw, and he keeps his job.
Spot on. Very embarrassing. We didn't play as bad against Hull as some suggest. Some on here and elsewhere have their agenda...borne in part,I think,by the BCB fiasco. They don't care about Beale...they don't want him to succeed....what they're really after is,if Beale resigns, or is sacked, they won't be interested in Beale again...... it will give them the ultimate target they're waiting for...... to go for Speakman. Some are even calling KLD and JS as "Chancers",trying to line them up with SD and CM. FFS!
I have been relatively quiet on the matter although it is a shame that there has been some animosity between fans as up until Beale this board was not too bad My take is while I didn't boo or chant I was exasperated in the last two games when first Rusyn was dropped (I was at Ipswich and this was not well received) and then dropping Ba against Hull. It was clear, and I have never coached in my life, that the team had no balance. That frustrates me as I would have hoped a qualified coach could spot that. I worry that he hasn't quite got the drift of managing Sunderland and needs to really do much to get the feel of the club and get the fans. I must admit I am not seeing that at the moment. I don't care where he's from I just want my club to do well. He won't have a long time unless it improves. I do hope he proves me wrong and at the end of the year we are in the playoffs or at a bare minimum have improved performances.
he might turn it around and hope he does but it's now turned a full coach vs fans just get rid now and save all the **** on over the next couple of games i'm scared to see how toxic it will be if we go 1 down tomorrow
i'm kind of glad my ears are still blocked with this cough / cold / congestion and i am practically deaf
Said the toxic bit to me m8 last night,so when they sack Beale who do the lynch mob want In charge ? Then how long before they turn on the next manager ? No matter who comes through the door they only have the same hand to play with
