    Stoke's accounts, wages running at 95+ percent of turnover and that's after all the cost cutting they have done.

    Would a Maximum Wage be legal?
    If not, it wouldn't be enforceable, in which case it wouldn't work.

    BUT, assuming that it could be put in place, umless UEFA, or FIFA insisted that this be made to apply to other Nations, all that would happen is that their would be an exodus of players to countries where the money is.
    Sky would follow them.
    The huge drop in income would, at a stroke, result in many Prem Teams checking the Company Liquidation rules!!

    (I believe that at present, EU Rules wouldn't allow a Maximum Wage to be applied to their countries).

    In any case I don't think that many Championship Clubs will want the Prem to change the way it opperates.
    Their ambition is to get promoted and get their snouts into the trough!!!!
