The only previous FA Cup tie between Bournemouth and Swansea was in November 2000. The Cherries won that game 2-0 with goals from Wade Elliott and James Hayter.

Swansea are without a win in their past 12 games against Bournemouth in all competitions and have already lost 3-2 against them in the League Cup this season. No side has ever eliminated the Swans from both cup competitions in the same season before.

Bournemouth have lost their past two home FA Cup matches against teams from lower divisions than them.

Swansea City have lost their past six FA Cup ties against Premier League opposition, conceding three goals in five of those six defeats. Their last victory was in January 2014 away at Manchester United.

Jerry Yates has been involved in eight goals in his last nine FA Cup appearances (five goals, three assists).

I can’t see anything other than a Muff victory: 3-0

    Hope I’m wrong<cheers>

As Liverpool showed, Bournemouth aren’t in the same league as them but unfortunately we aren’t in the same league as Bournemouth. If they take it seriously we’ll get a stuffing.
I’m going with 3-0 to them.

Thanks Taff. Weird evening to hold this game but I can't see us getting a weird result. So, unfortunately it's a 2-0 defeat for me.

Darren England will be the man in charge of Thursday evening’s Emirates FA Cup clash between Swansea City and Bournemouth (7.45pm kick-off).

VAR will be in place at the Premier League ground with Thomas Brammall, Paul Tierney and Constantine Hatzidakis set to watch the game from PGMOL’s Stockley Park, while Daniel Robathan and Daniel League will be the assistants and James Linington is set to be fourth official.

England is a FIFA-listed referee who was promoted to the Premier League in the summer of 2020. He began his career as an assistant running the line in the top-flight between 2012 and 2015 before swapping the flag for a whistle.

The official from Doncaster impressed in the lower leagues and was rewarded with the 2017 League Two play-off final between Blackpool and Exeter City at Wembley. That summer he was promoted to Select Group 2.

His 2023-24 season began with a trip to North Macedonia as he took charge of a Champions League qualifying match between Struga and Zalgiris.

England then oversaw a dramatic 4-4 draw between Southampton and Norwich in the Championship before taking charge of a Europa Conference League match. In total this season, he has overseen 17 games, mainly in the top-two tiers and he most recently took charge of Brentford’s home match against Nottingham Forest.

Thursday’s match will be the fifth time he has taken charge of Swans match, the most recent of these was a Championship meeting with Norwich City in November of 2020.

Head coach Luke Williams makes five changes to his Swansea City line-up for the FA Cup fourth-round tie at Bournemouth tonight (7.45pm).

Andy Fisher, Joe Allen, Jerry Yates, Charlie Patino and Kyle Naughton all come into the starting XI for the visitors.

Jamal Lowe is injured, and would have been ineligible against his parent club, while Carl Rushworth, Harry Darling and Jamie Paterson drop to the bench. Josh Tymon is not included in the squad.

Fisher takes his place between the sticks with Naughton joining Bashir Humphreys, Nathan Wood and Harrison Ashby in the Swans defence.

Allen joins skipper Matt Grimes and Jay Fulton in midfield, while Liam Cullen and Patino will provide support for Yates in the final third.

The hosts make five changes of their own as Mark Travers, Lloyd Kelly, Marcos Senesi, Alex Scott and David Brooks - who captains the Cherries - all come in following their weekend defeat to Liverpool.

Swansea City: Andy Fisher, Jay Fulton, Joe Allen, Matt Grimes (captain), Jerry Yates, Charlie Patino, Liam Cullen, Nathan Wood, Kyle Naughton, Harrison Ashby, Bashir Humphreys.

Substitutes: Carl Rushworth, Kristian Pedersen, Harry Darling, Jamie Paterson, Nathanael Ogbeta, Yannick Bolasie, Mykola Kuharevich, Ollie Cooper, Filip Lissah.

Bournemouth: Mark Travers, Lewis Cook, Lloyd Kelly, David Brooks (captain), Dominic Solanke, Ryan Christie, Alex Scott, Luis Sinisterra, James Hill, Marcos Senesi, Illia Zabarnyi.

Substitutes: Andrei Radu, Milos Kerkez, Chris Mepham, Marcus Tavernier, Justin Kluivert, Kieffer Moore, Antoine Semenyo, Gavin Kilkenny, Dominic Sadi.
