Why I Turned Down Chance To Sign Dennis - Watford Boss Valerie - Complete Sports This is from earlier int he year, maybe it was suggesting wages were too high. On wiki, says he only made 8 appearances in Turkey, wonder what happened? Emmanuel Dennis - Wikipedia
On the club website he states that he said no because at the time they were looking for a CF rather than a winger. As for what happened in Turkey, I'm assuming that the problem was simply that he failed to score! Although when he first signed for us, I can remember rumours that there were attitude problems at previous clubs - and there was some evidence of that with us. Perhaps they resurfaced?
Was a season we lost 27 games mind, I'd fall out with myself if that was the case - Premier league table 21 22 - Buscar con Google
https://www.watfordfc.com/news/dennis-this-is-my-home-this-is-my-family#play This interview has certainly changed my perception of Emmanuel Dennis. He was clearly desperate to come back.
What better place to kick-start his stalled career? Very popular with the fans, exceptional talent, way below his standard opposition level. If he keeps enough of his ego (not all of it, he'll need that swagger) in check then he could be the difference between play-off places and nada.
Reading about his return, although there is no option to buy at the end of the loan spell, it would appear that he would be happy to stay. For Watford to splash the cash, he would have to be a huge success, not easy in a limited time. We know that his radar is rather better when it comes to finding the net than some we have seen in recent games, so let us hope that he really does want to earn a decent contract at the Vic.
I was quite impressed with his comments and VI's comments on him I seem remember the same sort of comments from Sarr and Pedro, must be something to do with our club and the way we appreciate players with ability
It's a bit of a dilemma. If he does really well, then buying him back will be quite expensive. I guess though that it would be worth it if we get into the next division. If doesn't do well, then there's no point. The perfect solution would be no goals (or few) , so cheap , but a ton of assists and we go up.!
I guess if Forest get relegated there's a chance we could still get him for cheap-ish? Maybe in exchange for writing off any instalments they still owe us.
Does anyone have any more information about rumours linking Watford to loans for two players: Milan's Marco Pellegrino (21 year old Argentinian left-footed central defender) and West Ham's Freddie Potts (20 year old defensive midfielder on loan at Wycombe)? Matteo Moretto reports that Real Racing Club de Santander and Watford have contacted AC Milan about Marco Pellegrino. It would be a loan without an option to buy. He is very inexperienced: he played only 17 games for Platense in Argentina before joining AC Milan. He was selected as part of the Argentina national squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Peru in October 2023, but he has not yet made his debut. He made one appearance in Serie A at the end of October when he came on as a substitute, but he played for only 68 minutes against Napoli before going off with an ankle injury (which kept him out for the next three months). I am not sure whether he would qualify for a work permit. Some Wycombe supporters on Twitter and on one of their forums (Gasroom) seem to think that Freddie Potts may he leaving Wycombe to join Watford on loan. He has played 21 games for Wycombe in League 1 and four more games for them in various cups. Their supporters are not happy about it because they rate him highly and believe that he is good enough to play in the Championship. Freddie Potts has a contract at West Ham until June 2026 and he has an older brother who plays for Luton. I have no idea whether there is any truth in either of these rumours. They would be cheap options to provide back-up for two positions, but they would not be signings to build a squad in the long-term because Milan and West Ham appear to want to keep these players.
