The (15:45) at Huntingdon, a Class-2 Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle qualifier over a distance of 3m1f on good (good-to-soft in places) ground, is hard to resist having a go at! Usual tricky affair, but the Malinas gelding (Damsire: King's Theatre), My Bobby Dazzler, has decent form for this event, and ran a fine race at Cheltenham 24-days ago. Marshalled 14.25 - far too big 18/1 generally. Racing off 125 winning easily last time out...achieving RPR 135. Runs off 132 today acts on soft in form jumps well EW play
Will have a bit each way on Macs Charm @ 25/1 in the Thyestes Chase in Gowran Park. Has a bit to find with the main protagonists and as usual Elliott and Mullins dominate the numbers so it will take an almighty run and some luck to land this, but with PP paying 6 places he represents a bit of each way thievery, maybe.
545 Newcastle Whilliams has put a very posotive booking in the plate on pallas lord . Peate is in great form loves the track and the odds are drifting to the better side of evens.
645 Newcastle Miss Katie Scott sends noble captain 267 miles , they won at c/d last time they were here . They get a great draw and have drifted out to 11/2 in places.
Not too bad at all. Got an each way return at least. The winner was there to be backed too. Went off shirt enough for the Grand National but had shown nothing until today, at a course he clearly likes.
