Not looking good for these five:
    1 Reading (£215.4m)
    2 Fulham (£211.2m)
    3 Nottingham Forest (£197.2m)
    4 Middlesbrough (£165.3m)
    5 Stoke City (£164.3m)

(Total debt while in the Championship)
The Reading owner has acquired their stadium and training facilities via another company that he also heads up.
They could soon be going out of business.

That puts our situation into some kind of perspective.

It all adds weight to the huge need for a financial reset in my opinion. The new sustainability rules will help, but there are a massive amount of clubs, fans and players in for a big shock in 2025

Fulham will be sound imo. They’ll stay up again this season and get good money in for Palhinha.

Fulham could sell their stadium for a billion probably.

They will never be in any serious danger.

It looks to me on a quick look, that most clubs doing well have gone up or been up to the prem-and/or sold players for high fees.

The new ffp rules help, but they don't change the owner input side if it. Then add in that those at the top already have the biggest income and its nearly a closed shop

Football finances need a huge reset but clubs won't push for it in case they miss out on the pots of gold

Need some kind of system where FFP sorted by last day of reg season, any club failing it denied promotion or playoff place etc, would stop clubs gambling on promotion.

Reading Owner - Mr Dai Yongge
The owner of the Club, Mr Dai Yongge, has today been charged with misconduct for his repeated failures to deposit an amount equal to 125% of the Club’s forecast monthly wage bill in a designated bank account.
Mr Dai did not meet this month’s deadline, meaning he has been in default for nearly four months and remains in breach of both the first decision (August 2023) and second decision (December 2023) as ordered by the independent Disciplinary Commission.
He has also been charged with bringing the Club and/or League into disrepute as a result of his actions.
Both charges have been referred to an Independent Disciplinary Commission.

Sanction for Non-Fulfilment of a Fixture
Following the abandonment, the League entered discussions with Reading in respect of the potential sanction to be imposed as a result of the Club failing to fulfil its fixture obligations and have now reached a consensus by way of an Agreed Decision, in accordance with EFL Regulations.

The Club is now subject to a suspended three-point deduction with the sanction to be activated in either the 2023/2024 season or the 2024/2025 season if any fixture played in any EFL competition is postponed or abandoned due to disruption (including incursion onto the field of play) by the Club’s supporters. If it is required, the suspended three-point deduction will become active with immediate effect in the season during which the breach occurs.

To be fair, that is EXACTLY why the PL was formed. They are doing the job they were created to do.

You have to admit they have done a great job and slowly closing the door to 90% of clubs.

I wish they would bugger off and we could attempt a reset
