Same old same old for our friends down the road.

Lithuanian prosecutors have issued a European arrest warrant for the Russian owner of Portsmouth Football Club in connection with hundreds of millions of dollars in assets stripped from a local bank.

They want to question Vladimir Antonov and his Lithuanian partner Raimundas Baranauskas about Snoras Bank, which Lithuania's government nationalised last week after discovering a huge shortfall in assets.

Prosecutors said that the two men are the main suspects in a pre-trial investigation into fraud and money laundering.

Lithuanian regulators have said the size of the asset shortfall could reach 1 billion litas (£250 million).

The 36-year-old Antonov spends most of his time in England.

You just couldn't make this up.

What is it about that club that constantly attracts dodgy owners?

The parent company is Snoras - owning 68% of Krajbanka.

Where the hell do we find these guys?

Heh heh heh... hopefully Pompey will still exist until at least Saturday evening because they could do us a big favour.

Well done on being a real football fan.....your parents must be proud.

No football fan would want to see another club go out of business, no matter what the circumstances.

You have just made yourself look foolish.

I think it's time for someone to hold the FA to account here. How on earth can some of these owners be deemed "fit and proper". It simply beggars belief.

I know we're supposed to gloat and everything but i genuinely feel sorry for the decent Pompey fans, how much more have they got to go through? don't get me wrong,i want them to stay below us and lose every game but i think we can be a bit more bigger as people than to gloat and ridicule about something like this.Good luck Pompey, hope you get out of this mess but of course stay well below us in the football leagues!

Woah, only joking dude. Of course Pompey aren't going to be liquidated in the next week. I was laughing at Dev's black humour.

If Pompey was a person and their recent owners had been his financial advisors or accountants etc, his story would have made a feature on That's Life with Esther Ransom

What colour Reliant Robin do you have to own to pass the fit & proper person test these days?

The blame has definately got to be with the football leagues 'Fit and Proper' test. I hope that one day the club will be stable, no-one wants to lose their local team even if it is Pompey, besides rivalry is a good thing.

And I thought being a Saints fan has been the wrong sort of 'interesting' over recent years...
The FA's Fit and Proper Person test is a joke. Honestly, Pompey and dodgy owners is becoming a recurring theme.

I dislike Pompey but, quite apart from not wanting to see a football club go bust, if they went out of business altogether who are we left with as rivals? Bournemouth? Brighton? I don't think so.

Its all very well blaming the fit and proper person test and i don't know enough of the in's and out's to comment, but i am fairly certain that many football clubs have been taken over by foreign owners and to me it seems like its only portsmouth that have been taken over 3 dozen times by 3 dozen skint fraudsters(ignore the exageration) Pompey as a business are rotten to the core and imo have had more lifes than a cat, if i was a pompey fan which thank god i'm not i would be at the point where i would say enough is enough lets do the honourable thing for once fold the club and start again from scratch a little bit like wimbledon did. At least that way i would have a team i could be proud of supporting.
