Hull are having a good window mind, looks like Ryan Giles is signing for them on loan with an option to buy
As well as a DM, we need midfielders who can get up the pitch quickly with effective runs. Ipswich did this to us loads of times recently and it was exciting to watch.
True enough, but the signs aren't exactly encouraging right now. As posted elsewhere, will reserve judgement but am getting concerned
Played him higher up the pitch against Ipswich with Neil holding. Looked much better. Then inexplicably switched them round again v Hull. I’m lost at what we are trying to do at the minute I think the players are as well
The signs aren't encouraging. 8 days left and yes, most deals happen in last 48 hours of the window but there has to be an element of concern amongst the fanbase
I rate him but not as a cdm. He’s do think Ekwah in particular needs competition, so that not back up it’s competition but I’d prefer that competition to be someone who protects our defence and our orchestrates play and I’m not sure from what I know about him this is him.
I agree, I don’t like players pretending to be hurt. But he also gets blamed for everything else, Twas an attempt at humour mate.
looked more to me like we played Ekwah and Neil as a double pivot against Ipswich and just Ekwah on his own against Hull. I think he looks fine as the holding player. Would like to see Styles come in and fill that role though.
But there probably is in most clubs. Hull fans I know are moaning about not signing a forward despite signing Carvalho and Sharp
For context, our most recent Jan window signings have been:. 2022/23 Season 23rd Jan 2023 - Pierre Ekwah 26th Jan 2023 - Isaac Lihadji 27th Jan 2023 - Joe Gelhardt 31st Jan 2023 - Joe Anderson 2021/22 Season 4th Jan 2022 - Trai Hume 18th Jan 2022 - Danny Batth 21st Jan 2022 - Patrick Roberts 26th Jan 2022 - Jack Clarke 31st Jan 2022 - Jermain Defoe 31st Jan 2022 - Jay Matete 2020/21 Season 10th Jan 2021 - Carl Winchester 29th Jan 2021 - Jordan Jones 29th Jan 2021 - Jake Vokins 31st Jan 2021 - Ross Stewart So, we do often wait until the end of the window to do business, but honestly how many of those players came in and made a immediate impact? Even Clarke and Roberts were in and out the team until April/May So, there IS hope, but the noises coming (or not coming) out of the club are slightly worrying. Let's hope next week sees some movement......
Don’t say that they’ll get accused of being close to going into administration for spending more than us
From how we finished last season… I feel we have missed a golden opportunity… nearly through 2 transfer windows and still nothing concrete re a striker.. in fact the rumor mill is decidedly underwhelming… but I guess there’s time.. but I fear the worst and hope for the best
Last season our January signings were on the 23rd, 26th, 27th and 31st, and Mowbray continuously said "nothing imminent". So definitely wait until 1st Feb
Two transfers windows in which we signed 5 strikers, right? Not the right strikers, granted I'm being facetious. You're just saying nothing concrete has happened regarding strikers when we have 4 that were signed in the last window. Need at least one of them out to bring one in probably.
