DIPLOMATIC ASH 9/2 Plumpton 2:15 Finished a place in front of Rocky at Plumpton just over a fortnight ago. That was a serious step up from his debut and I think the front two that day represent a very decent level of form.
Given the handicapper has kept Rocky at 118, you could argue that Diplomatic Ash ran to around 113/114 at Plumpton, which means he would need to improve another 6 or so lbs to beat the favourite, if that ones handicap mark is to be believed. What will be interesting is the market for him, he was really weak in the EBF qualifier, which may suggest that they weren't expecting such a good run.
. The 15:40 at Warwick, a Class-4 Handicap Chase over an extended 3m1f on soft ground, gives a reasonable chance of success to the Yeats gelding (Damsire: Westerner), Pilot Show. Consistent form, although I must admit to being not so fortunate with this trainer! Never mind, it will have to do for me! Jonyo O'Neill Jr., rides for the Warren Greatrex stable. 7/2 (SkyBet/BetVictor) best price at time of writing.
In fhe 15:55 at Plumpton, a Class-5 Handicap Hurdle over an entended 2m4f on soft ground, the Workforce gelding (Damsire: Presenting), Nickelforce, has shown to have a squeak in this event, even though though it has a pretty hefty weight. Harry Bannister rides for the Ben Case yard. 5/1 (BetVictor/BetUK) best price at time of writing. E/W best option.
Sapphira may outrun its 25/1(generally) in the Kempton opener. Stepping down in trip after showing glimpses of ability at 7f. It's not a deep race. First time headgear. EW. I might entertain the EW extra at 24/1 4 places.
