I do a lot of showcasing some of our kids who I believe might not have been given a chance or offloaded too soon etc, but one player I hardly ever mention and who we paid big money for is Amari Miller. This is the kid we bought from the Birmingham Academy and is best mates with Jude Bellingham as both went to school together and joined Birmingham together. Indeed Amari played for Birminghams first team before we bought him to develop. Well what happened to him, rarely seen and hardly ever getting rave reviews?
Black armbands today due to the untimely death of Jaiden Anthony’s mum Donna. Bournemouth doing the same later and Anthony has travelled with the team today
Just for you Emu : Sky Sports pundit stunned by 'outstanding' Junior Firpo after Crysencio Summerville mistake v Preston
FARKE yet again was outcoached by Ryan Lowe and seems unable to change things against any team that presses. It was like watching a Sunday league game at times. A crap ref who allowed our players to be kicked off the park. The ref needed to turn some his yellow cards into red so the game could settle down. However the pattern is exactly the same when we play crap teams who have got Farkes number. We were unlucky not score more, Bamford was back to being barndoor and should have been swapped. Rutter had 2 men on him all match. Firpo played well again, it was a war for Kamara and Gruev, Summerville shouldn’t be taking dead ball kicks, Dan James another top game. Archie had his work cut out against Miller again so don’t get why Byram wasn’t there, anyway a wins a win
Do you mean the Millar who flattered to deceive all game and was subsequently subbed off after 77mins ? Well done Archie
I don't think Farke was out coached. I think he was patient and we were better everywhere on the pitch. I can't remember a team as dirty as Preston and that made the injury time winner even more sweet considering how much time they wasted. Anyway, **** them that's another 3 points on the board
The Millar that has two assists and a goal against Archie this season. That one. I'm not blaming Archie. As a full back sometimes you need a little help with a tricky player. That's where you look at Farke. I think that's where Doc is at.
Previous game Archie got roasted but fought back today and got much much tighter. That's called learning on the job and I'm guessing the reason why Farke had such a long chat with him on the pitch at the end. Oh and it was miss cued shot for Millar's so called assist today
Not as much as you think Doc and that lad Millar is quick so it was a much improved peformance compared to last time.
After a weekend of monkey chants around Europe it was great to see Leeds fans rise to the feet and chant Jaidon Anthony’s name when he came onto the pitch to warm up. They appreciated he didn’t need to be there, but was unlike Gnonto….
A goal and two assists by your man isn't considered coping well. Archie did OK today man vs man but he needed a little help at times and didn't get it in both games. The second half was better as we pushed Millar further back. I think that's why Gruev sat so deep 2nd half.
Talking solely about today then Archie did very well to get a grip on a tricky and pacy winger. Even Dan James wasn't quicker than the Preston lad so all things considered we should be delighted that the improved display from our young right back contributed to us winning the game. Or you can keep banging on about how crap Archie was in the Boxing Day game at their place if you wish, but as far as I'm concerned we saw the culmination of a weeks preparation by Farke and his staff to enable a much improved performance by Archie.
Are you judging Archie across two games because Millar couldn’t have scored one and had two assists today as they only scored one and you can hardly call that an assist, a wild air shot that threw our defence and luckily fell to him second time around. So, if he scored a goal and assist in the first game, got a fortunate assist this time and was substituted (I don’t remember if he played the whole game last time) then I’d say Archie coped better.
Archie did cope better today but still had problems. He’s 17yo playing in a crucial position, in a strange position against a very good winger who knows his stuff. My question is why we couldn’t start with Byram on the right. The main issue though is not been able to play against the press and a team that parks the bus. We were unlucky and then got very lucky in extra time. So 3 points each was almost 4 points to 1 to them. Those 2 losses are still crippling us especially when it seems Leicester and Southampton just turn up and win easily in most games. We cannot afford any more screw ups and we almost had one today.
I've not said Archie was ****. I've said that he struggled against Millar and needed some help with him instead of being left isolated 1 on 1. You're just making things up daily now. I'm still waiting for you're evidence that I think Gruev is crap. For the record, Archie struggled with Millar today. Millar is their danger man. Regarding boxing day. Archie was rinsed too often that day against Millar as he had no help that day either. Millar was their match winner that day. My question is....was leaving Archie 1 v 1 today against Millar a good coaching decision considering we lost a few weeks ago doing the same thing? I'm not sure it was but we got away with one today.
See post above. I'm merely suggesting Archie hasn't really done that well against Millar this season.
