I see that 2 games were paused yesterday due to racist chants from fans. It’s 2024, incredible how this keeps raising its head. Fifa calling for automatic forfeit for the team who’s fans are responsible. I’m all for it and it’s one of the very few changes that Fifa should actually implement. Will be interesting to see how they plan to do it mind. How do they prove during a match that someone was being racist?
You can’t forfeit a teams game because an individual in a crowd of thousands decides to be a prick. It’s different if they have particular group or section of the ground that does it week in week out.
It’s only going to work in places like Italy where it’s absolutely rife with some teams. Some games whole sections are shouting racist comments at the players.
Sheff wed have now had 3 shocking incidents this season, racist incident yesterday, those 2 fans mocked bradley lowry and they also had 2 other fans mock leicester fans for the death of their chairman
It won't help the affected but surely Sheff Wed can identify the guilty party (s) given all the cameras knocking around.
FIFA's idea won't work. Because the punishment affects the club not the perpetrators, some Ultra groups in Italy do it deliberately to exert pressure on the clubs to get their own way.
Great idea. I could sneak into an away section amongst town fans, do a monkey impression, swiftly leave. Town forfeit. Happy days. Seriously though, how could you stop that from happening? Silly idea.

This will never stop, sorry but it's true. Percentage-wise there'll be a few imbeciles in any large group of people, every village has their idiot. The good people of Costessey, near Norwich, have just witnessed the demise of two lovely little children, and two adults in a house where foul play is suspected. That's just one example of endless examples ... ... the point being humanity is flawed and you can never eradicate the flaws.
