For a bloke that likes to come across articulate and clever,he's missing the point, it's not the players anyone has a problem with.
I'm pretty exasperated by our local writers being such bed-wetters over this. It is terrible journalism, biased, emotion, reactive and short-sighted. I'm by no means a huge supporter of Beale but Roker Report and that hack who writes for sports illustrated are terrible. They're writing like the results and the performances are the finished article and this is what we will have for as long as Beale is manager. Absolutely no one can know that and writing as such is just breeding this ugly toxicity we are seeing. He may well be an utter catastrophe but if given the chance and adequate reinforcements to the squad he might do a fine job. Feels like everyone is so damn emotional and quick to cry foul. The club are not in a good place clearly but that hasn't started with Beale.
Have to disagree. This appointment is a footballing disaster and has unravelled as most people expected. We just hoped for the best, despite his poor record as a manager. Now we can see for ourselves his lack of leadership, game management and any positive influence on the players and signs and whispers the players just aren't getting him. The person who suggested he was a great idea should be nowhere near selecting our next manager - hopefully this 'process' starts very soon if they are big enough to admit they've helped create the toxic atmosphere with this ludicrous appointment.
Or just on the side of caution, thinking 7 games is too short a time. For me, that would be mad, to get rid but our decline has been so significant, the playing style, the post match conferences etc. Plus the fact he was widely not wanted amongst the fan base prior to him getting it. Add the fact the home end is chanting for his head already, it doesn't boad well moving forward. Especially when we have a young team who thrive in positivity and forward attacking play.
Yeah I get that - was being a bit facetious. I fear this will drag on and us down for longer than it should because the person who gave him the job won't admit they've made a huge, glaring mistake.
If the results continue to be poor sadly this bloke will have to be given the chop, or we will end up very near the bottom of the league I was all for giving him a chance but Fiday was simply awful It would be difficult for most managers to follow what TM has done for us
You make it sound like they have just turned on him it took them 60mins into his first game and they were booing off kids which is fantastic support. He's been missing Roberts for the last 4 games (including Rotherham since he came off early), had to rush Alese back as it wasn't working with a RB at LB. We've missed a CDM since Evans, and we are desperate one at present. The style chang is because we kept getting caught out at the back. How many times were people twisting at the standard of defending on the transition. We were always going to be the bridesmaid and never the bride under TM and is track records shows it. Tactically we could be better. For me it should be Ba or Bennette on the RW until Roberts is back. Bellingham needs a rest and you know my thoughts on Pritchard. The BCB scenario is driving all the hatred and creating all the negativity. It's a shame as I think KS has revolutionised the club on a small budget. I think we are at the crossroads waiting for the first 2 or 3 big sales to allows them to go again with a bigger budget. Unfortunately our fans are going to drive KS, SH and possibly KLD out and we'll end up with a far east consortium as rumoured who'll probably really **** up all the goods work that's been done on the football side.
Managing Sunderland requires a big personality, as well as football qualifications ... ... I've seen few signs of any so far.
The signs are people with those qualities appear to threaten speakman and he'd rather not go there I fear.
Good post mate, quite reasonable. I'm as angry as anyone but some of the personal criticism of KLD, and others, is really infantile and I've stopped reading most of the forum tbh. 'You don't know what you've got til it's gone' as the song goes.
The negativity on the pitch is not linked to the BCB, for me anyway. We have become slow, ponderous and hardly have a goal threat. We are losing games against poor opposition and have very low xg. We are boring to watch and his impact on the sidelines is minimal , with late subs. Have you seen people chanting to get a manager out after 7 games here. Not sure I have. Long long road back when that's in place.
