Navan might get the go ahead now the Frost has gone from these shores. For those who like a hurdle or jump in their racing.
Are these* the sort of races where all the trainers get together and draw for whose turn it is today? * the flat races
Man Of Riddles 15.45 Lingfield 6/1 running of 66 open to any amount of improvement since wind op seems to have done the trick.
Yeah, they can be trappy run events for sure, Ron. At least in Britain there is a slight bit of diversity regarding the amount of AW tracks for this time of year. Here in Ireland, with only Dundalk to pick from at the moment, the fields are almost always full and super competitive for such low grade action, it is almost impossible to ever select one confidently. There is rumours on the grapevine of a new track coming onto the scene over to the next number of years but I am not sure if that is a good idea either, or if it will come to fruition at all. I used to like Dundalk in the early days, could get a little bit of a handle on it but nowadays it is too much of a minefield. Very much like you said, it's who's turn is it today. Formbook can be well and truly ripped up.
14:35 Lingfield, a Class-2 Handicap over 5f on the Polytrack surface. A very tricky event with many in with a chance of winning, but selection is Bedford Flyer, who has a squeak at a decent price. Lewis Edmunds takes the ride for the Mick Appleby yard. 7/1 (Bet365) and 6/1 (Wm.Hill) are the best prices at time of writing. E/W best option.
Navan 155 Harvard guy looks good for the cd hatrick Lord erskine looks the better value though at around 6s Lord was 2l 2nd bahind harvard guy lto and today sees the 11yrold 10lbs better in terms . Talk in the park was 4th in the same race and could also be a big player. Awtc for me
Darn it, went down by 1/2 length to a 12/1 shot. Ran a good race though, so no complaints! Am glad I made it an e/w punt, that helps a bit!
Combination Tricast - can't think of a more difficult bet, unless the majority of runners have little or no chance, and can be dismissed from being considered. Very tough.
Maybe Trim Castle will surprise the probable favourite in the last at Navan,(16:15) a Pro/Am Flat race. Capable amateur jockey, Mr. H.C. Swan (5), on board for the Gordon Elliott stable.
If Grace waits instead of steering the widest course turning in she wins handy. Still think this one is a good few pound the right side...
