Thought Carvalho did some nice things but is just way too isolated. Morton good as well.

Coyle having a good game. On a yellow though makes it difficult. I'll be surprised if we finish with 11 on the pitch with this ref.

Carvahlo looking class. Pity he hasn't got Delap, and Philo to link with. They'd be a right handful, with Seri and Morton feeding them.

Here and looking from above Jobes has one eye he only looks left it’s terrible , he’s obv been told to keep it in field - he’s so slow with the ball !! Greaves is way better. Sorry guys Coyle has energy and will but he’s no footballer at this level - rushes everything!
we need a better second half - if they score first it’s over IMO .

We've done well to nullify them for 45 minutes. Our midfield is stretched due to Docherty and Lokilo being told to stay out hugging the touchlines...Pull them in a bit FFS.

Apart from that we've restricted them to Zilch but they are prepared to swing the ball into the box,we're not!!

We're not out of this but with 5 yellows we're walking on thin ice.

    Diabolical football. Scared to attack.

    Positives:

    Coyle
    Greaves
    Carvalho
    0-0
Sunderland passing around the back might be our way in.

    Negatives:

    Most of the other players.
    Hardly a shot on target.
    Bad ref.

We are going to be very lucky to finish with 11 men here. And even luckier not to lose if we continue to play this way.

A silver lining is it may mean we see a league debut for Ashbee.

That about sums it up when your most dangerous player going forward is your full back.

People moaning that we look really defensive and blunt in attack when the players who've contributed half our goals this season are all out the team...<laugh>

Get a grip. This is the best we could muster under the conditions, it's probably not going to get much better so just deal with it.

If we go down to ten men we'll get murdered, so we need to be careful.

"shouldn't have had his arm up".
Yep, there you go ...bit stupid that "leading with your arms" at head level, as the co-commentator said.

It makes me laugh that people moan when we play well but expansive yet lose but tonight we're way more conservative, not losing and people still moan.

Think the approach is spot on for what we have available. Try and nick one if we can but keep a clean sheet.

I went into this one happy to take a 0-0 so reasonably content with how it's playing out given Sunderland haven't created much. We just need to get out of this with a point, rest up, get players in and back and go again in Feb.

Agree. I would just be happier if we had a couple or three less bookings and if they had the one.

As I said, I think he's trying to protect his space as the Sunderland player jumps at him, didn't think his arm would catch him there. I dunno about you but I find it hard to jump with my arms down.

By the way Morton is really poor tonight doesn’t like the defensive stuff at all likes to ‘play’ only .

Really? From TV he's looking one of our best. Played the one-two to play Coyle in, had a lovely outside of the foot clearing pass out of defence early on to set Jacob off down the wing, and seems one of our leaders out there.

Funny how he keeps getting singled out by some.
Funny how he keeps getting into the motm top 3.
He has also been involved in the best parts of our play so far.

I think this is by far Morton’s worst game for us! Has given the ball away so many times.
