There would be an extreme refugee crisis and no solution to after such a war. Iran would be a civil war hellscape like Libya is today.

A combination of two things, one, there are a lot of murderous ****s in this beautiful world of ours. Number two, murderous ****s can convince normal people that they're the best of a bad situation. I mean, I have to be a murderous ****, because their murderous ****s will kill YOU. You don't want to die. So you need me.
True, it does help if you have the most powerful country in the world giving you free reign to be a murderous ****. Netanyahu's probably looking across thinking, by this time next year Trump's in charge and any talk of a two state solution is officially dead.
Yeah, doesn't help that the moment the country came into existence every single neighbouring country declared it was their mission to eliminate them. They probably don't have to be so belligerent anymore to stay alive but unfortunately, the memories run deep.
