A big if but if Southwell goes ahead tomorrow I’ll have an ew speculation on the marvellously named Private Pike in the lucky last @ 12/1. In Twister’s ownership and first outing in a handicap. His best run to date was a reasonably remote 3 behind 2 horses that have both done very well since over this trip (both rated 130s). A basement mark and 7lb claimer.
Glad to see there's racing at sunny Southwell. Tricky card. Am on a long and dismal losing streak so I cannot be over the moon about selection! Will take a chance in the 15:55 event, a Class-5 Handicap Hurdle run over an extended 3m on soft ground. 13-runners, but maybe Hobb's Delight will oblige. Harry Cobden rides for the Neil Mulholland yard. 5/1 (Wm.Hill/Unibet) best price at time of writing. E/W best option, especially if odds drift.
Ran very well to finish second to the Skelton horse who was made favourite. Just could not peg back the winner. With the e/w, didn't lose anything!
