Indeed, I'm due to change my car late next year, the dealership phoned me last week asking if I'd considered my choice yet as currently there's a seven to nine month waiting list! The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Having had the misfortune* to pick my daughter up in Hull’s ‘rush hour’ (sic) traffic* this evening - electric, petrol , diesel or hybrid makes no difference if you move a mile in an hour…
Hertz have just announced they're cancelling their plan to have 25% of their US fleet switched to EV's by 2024 and are selling off 20,000 EV's, writing off $245m in depreciation charges. They say they're too expensive to repair and the demand just isn't there, it's caused a significant drop in the share prices at Tesla and Polestar. Ford and General Motors have also scaled back their plans for switching production to EV's, it looks like it's all going a bit pear shaped.
Oh and something I found out yesterday, the smoke trails from the Red Arrows is made by dripping un burnt diesel on to the exhaust mixed with coloured dye, over 600,000 litres a season is used every season, wtf, not very good for the environment is it? I tell you Joe Public are taken for mugs every single day. I’ve said many times the rich don’t give a **** about climate change.
They're really struggling, I wouldn't be surprised to see them file for chapter 11 again later this year
They performed well last year, their numbers aren't bad at all, they were just dragged down by higher than expected costs on running EV's, hence the change. 'Over the past twelve months, the company had a revenue of $9 billion and Earnings Per Share (EPS) of $2.37. Its operating margin is 21.92%, which ranks better than 86.94% of 1064 companies in the Business Services industry'.
What about the other colours lol? The dye they used previously is degraded by too much heat (when the colour goes).
Tesla are bringing a new model out, it'll be named 'Emperor', every time you go in it you have to wear new clothes, or not. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Only been in a Tesla once, in Dubai when my son in law organised us a cab home. Went to open the door to get in and felt extremely stupid when I realised there were no door handles and I didn’t know how to open it. When I finally did get in, there was no dashboard, just a steering wheel and computer screen. Looked more bare than a 60’s Mini.
I don’t care for cars at all, but got a Tesla last year and love it. Wake up every morning to a full tank at reduced energy rates, plus instant torque and one pedal driving are such a nice driving experience Understand they’re not for everyone, but I can’t see myself going back to ICE
I’m fairly sure they stopped using kerosene years ago and have been using a fluid from Shell that is less environmentally damaging. Wasn’t aware there is another greener option in the offing, which is good to hear.
That will cheer up the child labourers, as young as 9, being exploited to mine the lithium and cobalt required for electric car batteries and other things. They will think it is all worthwhile.
