It definitely does, given I'm meeting some lads from work immediately afterwards. Not feeling that confident to be fair, but they're gonna quickly turn on Beale and their board if we get our noses in front.
Something that's happening a lot recently is that a summary of LR's interview gets posted and then a load of people who clearly haven't heard the interview in full and with context to the comments wade in to have their say. They're available on BBC Sounds minutes after every game, so if you're as interested in pulling his words apart as some seem to be, you might as well actually listen to him.
I really don't get the negativity, we put out a very young second string side and on the whole gave an experienced Brum side a run for their money and lost in the last minute. We are missing at present, Seri, Traore, Connolly, Vinagre, Philogene & Delap, most of these players would be in the first eleven. Any team with that amount of players missing would struggle. Liam is still learning the job himself, and not doing a bad job on the whole IMO, teams go through these dips and injury problems, give the guy some slack.
He turned round last seasons squad into a relegation candidate into one that was top 8 on form since he arrived. This is the first time under his tenure we’ve had a real bad spell and I would argue a lot of the games have been down to some unfortunate luck. Only 2 performances out of my memory since beginning of December stick out as proper stinkers and they’re QPR and Wednesday. A Birmingham side had to bring in 5 of their starters to turn a game round that consisted of a 17 year old Stan Ashbee, a left back that’s supposedly not been ready and a player that was on his way out. It was our third string team when everyone’s fit and we nearly scraped a result. I’m frustrated like many because we could have way more points with some minor tweaks and balls bouncing our way but to say he’s just semi-competent seems overreactionary
It's understandable that we're out of the Cup given the players we had to field last-night but it's still disappointing to those of us who like a Cup run... Big game on Friday now and we can Ill afford any more injuries or crucial mistakes...UTT
Unless it was him playing in goal 8n those games, making saves in those games, then no he did not. Nor did any other single player. What a strange view.
So on the basis that some feel Rosie isn’t the one and we should have an alternative a few questions : Who would be our star forwrd on Friday Who would play left back Who would play on the wings Midfield? And if the answer’s were he should have sorted it last summer , why did we get to 6th with all our players ? And now with so many quality players out or missing what do you expect ? . He has dodgy keepers , he has Christie whose legs have gone - unexpected , I’m not totally convinced only on one level that’ is willingness to adapt before or during games , he has played football and coached for a long time now , he should know every formation in football and use that bank if knowledge to get ‘ something’ from a game . If he has players who continue to make errors then those players are not good enough . We do have a young side tho and I think this is a problem at times .
If you keep telling your players it’s just unlucky you’re allowing them to think it isn’t their fault for mistakes It is and he should correcting those mistakes not putting it down to bad luck
I wonder if he is actually telling the players they were unlucky, or if those comments are more for the media and fans.
I’ve been majorly critical of Rosie but even I can see the recent turning on him has been ridiculous. We’ve got Billy Sharp as our only fit striker and playing Slater at full back ffs. He’s obviously not blameless and I’m sure there’s better managers out there but when we signed Fabio it’s widely acknowledged style of play is a big part of it. Although that being said I’d take Cooper in a heartbeat…
I dont get this half arsed attempt at the cup....granted we wouldn't have won it,but a nice run would have been nice, because imo the league as gone as we will probably finish mid table regardless of who we sign....the problem lies much deeper....well done to the 394 who travelled
Tbh....I didn't take much notice of the game, as I have long ago given up on the FAC, but reading the BBC report and the reference to 'disastrous defending' I'm not in the least bit surprised....It seems that right now we've got some comedians playing at the back for us, but its not in any way funny. It must be doing Andy Dawson's head in.
I think it was Steve Bruce said something like “professional payers don’t need much of an excuse to shift the blame”
Is there a goals or highlights vid from this game? Whilst looking, I kept getting conned by some bellend or other posting themselves playing ****ing FIFA under the title of Brum 2 Hull 1.
check out thehullboy on YouTube, does extended vlogs of the game which have a lot of footage of the action.
