Gets a lot of stick but the lad is a grafter and does more miles than anyone else in the team.

Lad needs the respect on his name.

Ya but running 12k in a game whilst doing **** all is of no benefit to the team. His stats against city were embarrassing, he literally did nothing, not even a single tackle made. We all know they’re gonna have tonnes of the ball so at least get stuck in.

No. He is the first one that needs replacing. He's the CM version of Almiron. All heart but no skill. Belongs in the Championship

    Burn. Almiron. Longstaff.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

That's not even mentioning the likes of Hendrick, Hayden, Murphy, Ritchie and Dummett.

Like Longstaff - he's like our Carrick-lite, amazing engine, nothing fancy but will run through brick walls for the team and put himself into some tackles. Lacks that eye for a killer pass imho and that little bit of magic the top top players have in their locker but he'll never give less than 100% (something the fans claim to want - until the effort is there and results aren't).

Club captain in the next 2/3/4 years so those who want him gone should just start mentally preparing for that breakdown around the corner.

Put himself into some tackles? He didn't make one vs City. There's levels, mate, and he's miles away from Carrick! He just runs a lot. Don't hate him, can't fault the effort, but he's a very average player. If our aspirations are 'be very average, and very committed' then he's perfection.

He's an ok player, but it'll be nice when we have better. It's his belly flop dives deserve respect, for being so bad.

:emoticon-0140-rofl: one performance vs City and he can't tackle? He gives us balance and can play defensively too. He passes well, has a good shot.

Never said he was as good as Carrick...literally Carrick-lite say's he's not on Carricks "level"

Like I said, he runs a lot. Passing/shooting is fairly ineffective.

Money where your mouth is - name your championship CM who's better than him and lets see where their careers are in 2/3/4/5 years...
Kone at Watford maybe, Alcaraz at Southampton the same, Flynn Downes - liked him at West Ham but doubt it, Dewsbury Hall is the only CM doing well in the Champ I could think of off the top of my head who'd be likely to do better but depends on his next move.
