If this alpointment goes tits up the attention will turn to Speakman. He has lots of credit in the bank with me but we can't keep burning through head coaches (IF Beale gets the bullet at some point this season). KLD will have a list of Sporting Directors just the same as Speakman has a list of Head Coaches. They all know the score.
Mid-table for me unless we have a massive upturn in form. We’re simply not creating enough chances and when we do we aren’t taking them.
Honestly depends on this transfer window imho, get a proper no9 and we can right ourselves, don’t get one and 10 - 14
Spot on me marra. Attention is on KS now. This is just my opinion and it means fa, but he has got this one so wrong
Striker and experienced defensive midfielder to balance the youth for me. I think I may be disappointed on the striker front however as it’s the worst window to do transfer business. Plus everyone seems to be after a striker.
I think KLD needs to start okaying managerial appointments with our supporters first otherwise the head coaches are on a hiding to nothing. This is the worst I can remember seeing our supporters. Saying that Beale isn’t good enough and he’s been a terrible appointment after 5 games is blowing my mind. With a fan base like ours, we deserve to drop back into league one.
Interesting to look back at a thread from last season - Tony Mowbray's 13th game of the season https://www.not606.com/threads/mowbray-so-far.403498/
I'm still prepared to give MB a chance, he hasn't done anything so far that warrants that, but he's been here 5 mins and we have a transfer window. I think its fair to assume that if the glaring need for a striker isn't addressed then things will get uncomfortable..especially at the stadium of light. It will also be a rough ride for KS, for all the good things he's done, the lack of a proven striker for over 12 months is unacceptable. My fear is we get the odd win here and there that will paper over the cracks and buy a little more time...hope I'm wrong
Can you give me a single example of anything that's been changed on the pitch since Mowbray's last game? I can see the argument that it's only five games, but you would expect to see small changes here and there.
That's very interesting. I'm not impressed with what I've seen from Beale so far and I'm far from convinced. But Mowbray had a 1.2ppg average based on the info in that thread over his first 13 games. He had a 1.0ppg average in his last 5 and a 1.26ppg over this season so far. Beale has a 1.4ppg average over 5 games. The performances are poor, the appointment was uninspiring but there's nothing to do but give him the rest of the season and see how we feel then imo. Anything else is counter productive.
We are hitting a lot more early crosses. One of the biggest criticisms of Mowbray's tactics was our insistence on trying to walk the ball into the net.
Hard to say until the end of the month. The league is stronger this year and other teams are starting to click. If we don't finish in the top 6 I hope we're in the top 10.
