If he's got no speed, then what attributes does he have?...He's not a speed merchant, but he's nippy and a little tricky. But like a lot of people I'm not exactly going ott on him.
you really can't blame Vaughan when our two centre backs are both marking the same man - Vaughan was left out to dry
Lovely lad. Lovely hair.....Always tries hard....But all right foot and always plays on the left. Never gets around the back, always comes inside and produces nowt...I've said it for a while, give him a go on the right wing, but either City coaches haven't figured it out or don't think he's good enough...probably a combo of the two.
Last night was Sharp’s 400th Championship appearance, I bet he wasn’t expecting it to be such a long one.
Anonymous after 10 mins...Perhaps a sentimental, end of career, return to Scunny would have been the best option, not the high energy cut and thrust of championship football.
I 'suspect' the 'plan' would be after tearing the other side apart and exhausting them with out possession based play, after 70 minutes send on the old wiley fox to poach a goal or keep them on the back foot, didn't go to plan...
He had two good chances and should have scored with at least one of them. If (and it’s a big if), we get in the playoffs Sharp will have scored a few important goals for us. Although probably all in the second half. And late on.
Yeah Sharp showed exactly why people were right to be sceptical about his signing. Couldn’t hold the ball up, legs have gone. Hopefully a wake up call if we have any ambition for the remainder of the season
He also had a tap in to an empty net if Carvalho had looked up and spotted him. I'm bigging him up so much I might become his agent.
Sharp was brought in to see out games for the last twenty minutes and to aid the younger lads, not to be our only fit striker playing for over an hour. He’s great for what we signed him for, he’s clearly not going to be a player who can play 90 minutes.
We are supposed to be going for it according to Acun and Rosie. When you look at Connolly’s overall fitness record and the current state of the bench him playing more then just seeing out games had a high chance of happening.
The consideration is that Connolly did not see the keeper, and they collide, keeper got the ball. BUT the keeper did see Connolly, indeed he appears to be looking right at him. What does he do, he turns side on and leads with his knee and elbow. That is intentional dangerous play, red card imo. Similarly, the lad on Coyle gives him an intentional elbow to the head. How does the ref miss both of them.
I did witness the Carvalho cross shot....Sharp of ten years ago would have made an effort to get to it...He didn't have a pray at 37. Good luck with the agent gig.
