I’ve felt for a while it will be Southampton. No wins in the league for Ipswich since Norwich draw. I went over and predicted a score on the Ipswich match day thread vs Sunderland but they weren’t very warming
Yeah, I agree that Southampton are the greater threat. But it would be good to turn it into a 2 horse race for second place rather than being in a 3 horse one. Besides, I can't stand Ipswich...
Great result today against a poor side who showed glimpses at times, we could have had 5 or 6, well done lads that's made my weekend gonna have a good Drink and celebrate.
Meslier - 6. Didn't have much to do. Came charging 35 yards out of his goal for some unknown reason in the first half and got lucky. Gray - 8. Solid defensively and played some lovely passes including a better for James who hit the bar. Rodon - 9. Dealt with everything that came his way and stopped any Cardiff attacks before they turned in to anything threatening. Ampadu - 9. Pretty much the same as Rodon. The pair of them were excellent today. Firpo - 6. Decent going forward and had some lovely touches. A complete disaster when defending. His worst ball control of the match was his assist for the opener after a great run to set things going. Went off injured. Gruev 9. His best game yet in a Leeds shirt as he improves every game. One poor pass 1st half aside, it was pretty much the best all round performance on the park. Kamara - 8. Pressed well, covered the ground and kept things moving. Provided some clever balls in to our attack. James - 8. Defended well, scored one, played a great ball to put Bamford through and hit the bar. Another all action great game. Summerville - 6. His pace and movement caused constant issues for Cardiff but his 1st touch was off today. Still got an assist, still worked incredibly hard but not his greatest game topped off by a missed penalty. Rutter - 9. Showed his range of passing and his trickery. Played Bamford through on goal, won a penalty, dictated the play and scored a great goal. Bamford - 7. His movement to pull defenders around really helped create space for others. Scored the all important opener but missed several good chances after. His impact on the game dwindled as the second half wore on. Subs. Byram - n/a. On for the injured Firpo for the last 5 mins. Anthony - n/a. Injury time sub. Piroe - n/a. Injury time sub. Shackleton - n/a. Injury time sub. Gnonto - n/a. Injury time sub.
Thought our centre halves and central midfielders really controlled the game today. They were all excellent and built the platform for others to build on. Georginio showing why he should have been playing at 10 all season.
