Longman’s miles better than Lokilo, but he isn’t good enough either. Allahyar’s gone, we’ve agreed a loan for the rest of the season.
After watching last nights game I still think we're crying out for players this window. 2 upgrades to the full back positions, not young kids who can do a job but proper first team players who will improve the team going forward and in defence. The young kid at left back did a good job and proved he deserves to be in the squad, but we should be looking at a better player starting ahead of him.. Coyle also for me isnt good enough for the way we play, good backup option maybe, but nothing more.. 2 wingers, cover for Philogene and a decent right wing option. We're fine everywhere else really, I know a nasty bastard in midfield would please most of us but I dont think Rosenior will ever want that type of player. Lastly a striker is vital if we want any chance at top 6 this season. I honestly dont care what Rosenior says about not being concerned about that position as I think he's bluffing. We were light before the injuries, now its just ridiculous. Sharp is a nice option to have off the bench, with 15 minutes to go but he shouldnt be starting games for us. If we are indeed serious about top 6 we need to show it this window. Ship out whoever we dont need and bring in what we do.
Wingers City have had recently that are better than Lokilo in no particular order: Mallik Wilks Ryan Longman James Scott Hakeeb Adelakun Gavin Whyte Allahyar Randell Williams Am I missing anyone?
Burnley just signed David Fofana on loan from Chelsea, so might be happy to release one of two we’ve been chasing now.
So we've just lost 2 strikers out through injury but decide to loan out Allahyar, who has real pace. I hope to **** there's plans to sign another striker?
Forrest Gump had pace, don’t think he, or Allahyar are the answer to our needs. Although do agree we’re light up top and in need of an additional striker.
We are also loaning out Wood and Jarvis who also are probably not up to it yet, but it leaves us perilously short of options.
Add a big bugger at CB too. Not meaning just a big lump but one who can play football with some real presence too (for both boxes). In those signings need to be 2 or 3 real characters with 'nous' and real on field leadership, and hard tacklers. Loads of signings made during Acun's tenure and Rosenior's 2 windows but the squad is still so unbalanced. Rosenior keeps saying we don't need these things, but he's plain wrong. The final thing of course is better luck with injuries, whether that really is just bad luck or something else?
Coventry into 6th after beating Leicester. Carry on at this rate and the playoffs will be drifting away
Burnley named Benson on the bench last night, the first time they done so for a while, so it doesn’t look like his departure is imminent.
