In an ideal world they’ll get a large slab of land that at leazes park/town moor and create a new 40k seater stadium for the lasses called st Jamies park, seats the current st holders whilst they then knock down st James’ and move it 100 yards up the road and build a massive new one for the men’s
Yeah, listened again and it's VERY political, and probably points to the opposite of my immediate reaction. He's doing the palms up "we tried everything, but this move is our only option to have state of the art, world class facilities". I don't know enough about infrastructure, but don't the Saudi's have a vested interest in both the airport and docks? So with that in mind, it would make sense to create a significant building project - in turn, the Reubens would get refusal on the old SJP site to do something with it. All very convenient.
There's all sorts of rumours floating around. The only factual thing we have at present is the feasibility study and the land purchase at strawberry place for the fan zone (which has a 3 year contract - so far). Tyneside Life did a few videos on some of these rumours - the first being friends of Leazes Park may be favourable to a ground swap type arrangement these days. (The head of which has just been placed on the newly formed fans panel.) Leazes Terrace could in theory be moved bit by bit - Not as crazy as it sounds as roof and insides can be demolished, walls can then be sliced and moved in parts and re-assembled.....(who knew this was a thing). The freemen of the city can grant land on the town moor (and have done in the past) if it is for the benefit of the city and or its people and now have close ties with both the club and the city council for first time in generations. All 3 have pro's and cons - Not least the cost factor in all of this. My personal thoughts are the expansion of Galowgate and East Stand would still be limited for the costs involved, wouldn't add the amount of seats people would want when corporate areas will be included too. To me this would leave the option of flattening the whole stadium and rebuilding it. (leaves issue of where do we play in the mean time? Is this why Mackems are redecorating bars and rolling out red carpets?) I reckon Leazes Park is going to be crawling with protected wildlife species which will hamper that one even if it got a go ahead. (Would like to hope the feasibility study is looking into this sort of thing too) Which leaves the realistic option of a new stadium away from current location - Does the council? and can the council really afford SJP moving from the City Centre to somewhere like Gosforth Park? I doubt it, which means talks would have to be made with the City Freemen regarding the Town Moor. This is what I would be hedging my bets towards. Stay at SJP till new ground completed then move into state of the art new stadium with no limitations, remaining close to city centre so wont effect businesses too much, infrastructure still in place for transport and fans. But......We'll see.

These late kick offs are great for the Elderly Don has got the extra 2 hours to walk to the ground and Trev has the extra 2 hours to pick a route to Newcastle and find a parking space
