I have to go to the UK tomorrow and won't be back until Saturday night. There is no access to the internet where I will be staying but hopefully I'll be able to check in a few times from somewhere. I think the Daily Racing thread will be the only one that would need sticking during this time but presumably it will get bumped up frequently enough through regular activity.

Thankfully we have a happy forum that doesn't need moderating. However there have been a few attempts lately to post suspicious threads so if you notice anything I should know about please PM me so that I don't miss it.

Have a good rest of the week and enjoy a good day's racing on Saturday. Unfortunately I will miss that. Maybe someone would like to run a "Hennessy" competition in my absence.

    Cheers
    Ron

    Internet? Wotz dat?

You must be staying in my office. This is the first time I’ve been able to get on here other than at home for a couple of weeks. Proof if it were needed that they are thick and inbred in East Yorkshire. The Web Gestapo must be too busy on Facebook today to have blocked Not606. They managed to block Google on Friday on the grounds that it was a Search Engine.

Nass, have you got that dictionary of German swear words? We have a whole week to wind up our Berlin correspondent...

How do we know that this is not mischief? Own up Nass...

Have a good break Ron. Thanks for asking after my health on another thread. Still struggling to be honest despite extensive physio - hoping they can get to the bottom of it soon.

Unfortunately it isn't a break and I don't really want to go but someone has to; I lost. I'm going to miss the Hennessy and the football Saturday afternoon. <grr>

Are you on morphine tablets Fulkes? I could only come out of hospital with morphine tablets and I weaned myself off them by taking weak ones and having strong ones by the bed as a precautionary measure until I could get by without any.

Ron - I know there's nothing worse than putting up with people going on about their ailments but what I have is a trapped nerve problem and strong painkillers don't seem to be working. All that works is rest but I have to drive to work each day and work on a PC and none of that helps. The Irish Rugby captain just had an op for something similar so maybe that's where I'm heading.

was on the morphine tabs myself for a while - great for pain relief but the side effects (which i wont detail here) were a killer - enjoy the well deserved break ron

Best wishes Fulkes - try some weak morphine tablets and, if necessary, something for the side effects that I think Minty is referring to. When I was having morphine pumped in through both arms I started hallucinating but the tablets didn't have that effect.
