Newcastle can't even afford Solanke.. 25 million wouldn't get him! they'll be after 50 million or somewhere in the region.

25 million gets you chris wood.

    We should re-sign him.

The Solanke rumours just bewilder me. Scouting - what's it even there for?

"Oh, look, he's playing well - we should sign him".

I've heard from two sources now (one linked to the club) that we are exploring the option to get Danny Ings in on an 18 month deal from West Ham.
He's on £250k a week and Hammers want him off the books for free.
Wages would naturally be a stumbling block.
    You heard it here first.
Could be a good addition short term.

I'm guessing with Bournemouth saying no to Solanke we are already looking at plan B.

Just looked at his stats and he's got 20+ PL goals in some seasons. Could potentially link up well with the pace of our wingers as he's a bit of a fox in the box. Got good experience too.

Surprising choice. Alhough I can see his style of play would fit in a high tempo / high pressing system, so perhaps that's what Eddie is looking for. Would be a real handful to bring on late when defences are getting tired.

A fair bit more powerful and robust than fresh air too. Probably wouldn't be a bad back up option. *on a free*

Not for a short stop gap option he's not.
    Got loads of PL experience.

He's a good player mate scores goals with his feet and his head, he's big and strong and is quite mobile aswel.

Have to agree, his record is pretty bad plus he's 31 and on way too much money

Would be more compatible with FFP and we could probably get his wages down too. This might free up spend in other more needed areas.
