He was leading by a mile in our podcast's Player of the Season, wonder if anyone will chase him down.
Jaden and Jones probably the other 2 in my top 3 as it stands.Hopefully both stay fit for the rest of the season and can battle it out
They’ve got one of the best academies in the world right now. Look at the players from their academy that never played a minute of senior football that they sell to smaller clubs. Lavia and Edozie didn’t even go out on loan before being sold straight from Man City’s academy to Southampton. Wouldn’t want to piss them off.
Jesus both Leeds and Southampton are really pissed at missing out on Fabio…I’ve just been reading a piece by Reporters for both clubs stating they can’t believe he chose us.. the Southampton piece was talking about it being the perfect place and fit, they’re not happy with Morton either lol. Grow up you ****ing idiots, nothing is definite until the fat lady sings……be so funny if Fabio scores the winner against them…..
People seem to be making a lot of assumptions about Delap's injury. The idea that 2-3 months is a minimum and he'll still need time to build up fitness is a big one. Usually when Rosenior gives an injury prognosis it's a worst case scenario and includes the time to get them fit again. On several occasions he's later said "He's way ahead of schedule" about an injured player. We're not going to take any risks with him, LR is obviously big on that as he talks a lot about looking after players for their longer term career, but also Man City aren't going to arbitrarily ban him from playing the last 2 months of the season if he's perfectly fit by then, just for the sake of rounding it up. It's a terrible loss because of the qualities he gives us, which I think are extremely rare. I don't think that us only having two traditional centre forwards is that big of a deal though. We had the same number for the entire first half of the season and it never really became an issue. In the modern game, and we're very much a modern side, attacking players are more interchangeable than years ago and having out and out strikers is less important than just having good attacking players with the right qualities. If we could sign someone else who can hold it up, turn and run like Delap can then we'd be mad not to, but I wouldn't worry about signing any old striker for the sake of numbers. We'd be better off utilising Carvalho, Tufan, Twine and Traore playing as supporting attackers as we have done to date.
Yeah, OK. We didn't know the extent of the injury then clearly. In fact it seems we still don't, given the bit about the further scan in a few weeks to determine whether he needs surgery. That sounds significant and if he doesn't need surgery then maybe he'll be back sooner than expected, just as others have been. Doesn't change the fact that on several occasions Rosenior has quoted a timeframe and then later said the player is way of schedule and in reality had them back sooner. I think he's cautious about quoting too short a timeframe, he mentions that a lot too.
So it won't be 3 months then? People are jerking their knees unnecessarily? Is that what you're trying to say here?
It’s two to three months to be back in the team, not two to three months before he can resume training. Reality is, we’re not really going to know for sure what the situation is until after the scan in a few weeks. If he doesn’t need surgery he could be back in March, if he does need surgery, he’ll almost certainly be out for the season.
I was able to resume full training/duties after 6 weeks when i had the injury but i never needed surgery i was lucky my leg was just wrapped up in a robbie jones bandage for the 6 weeks it is painful so even at a minimum we will be looking at 6-8 weeks till he is back training if he does not need surgery.
If we are serious about a playoff push then we need to bring someone else in whilst he's out injured. We can't afford to rely on 37yr old and someone with a potentially suspect toe. Other injuries and suspensions will happen
Best I can do, I’m amazing at turning on the iPad but anything else an absolute moron lol Southampton offered Fabio Carvalho 'perfect project' before he snubbed them BYMATT SMITH PUBLISHED 13 HOURS AGO Southampton were reportedly keen on signing Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho on loan, but he's now edging closer Southampton were pushing to sign young midfielder Fabio Carvalho on loan from Liverpool, but he's now officially moved to fellow Championship side Hull City. Journalist Dean Jones has spoken to GIVEMESPORT about how the Saints were able to offer him the perfect project, but will be disappointed to have missed out. Russell Martin's side are closely trailing behind Leicester City and Ipswich Town in the Championship as they fight for a top-two finish, which will guarantee promotion to England's top flight. In their pursuit of an immediate return to the Premier League, the Saints could be considering bringing in reinforcements during the January transfer window. It's been easy to attain the right players in the winter, with selling clubs unwilling to sanction departures for some of their key stars. Martin and his recruitment team had identified Carvalho as someone who would benefit the Southampton squad, but they failed to get a deal over the line. Southampton were keen on Carvalho Carvalho started the campaign on loan with German side RB Leipzig, but the Portuguese youth international struggled to make a major impact in the Bundesliga. As a result, Liverpool opted to terminate his temporary move early while searching for another club for Carvalho to spend the remainder of the season with. It's not quite worked out for Carvalho at Liverpool so far, but at the age of 21, the former Fulham midfielder still has plenty of room to grow and develop. A more suitable loan spell will be hugely beneficial, and Hull City have officially announced that Carvalho will spend the remainder of the term with the Championship outfit. However, Hull certainly weren't the only club who were hoping to convince the youngster to sign on the dotted line. As per MailOnline, Southampton were one of the sides who were interested in securing the signature of Carvalho, with Leicester also keen on the midfielder. David Ornstein recently reported that the 21-year-old had the choice to move to both Hull and Southampton, but the former ultimately won the race. The Athletic reporter claims that talks with Tyler Morton, who is also on loan from Liverpool, helped convince Carvalho to join the Tigers. Journalist Jones previously told GIVEMESPORT that Carvalho would 'rip it up' at the Saints and he would have given them an excellent chance of gaining promotion back to the Premier League. However, Martin and his recruitment team will be forced to go back to the drawing board. Dean Jones - Southampton offered 'the perfect project' Jones has suggested that Southampton offered Carvalho the perfect project with the ideal playing style to help him get back to his best, and the Saints will be disappointed to have lost the race to secure his signature. The journalist adds that he's surprised the former Fulham man opted to join Hull over Southampton. Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones said... "Of all the clubs that missed out on Carvalho, I think Southampton are the most disappointed. I think that they were offering him the perfect project under the perfect playing style to get back to doing what he did best. If he was to replicate what he did at Fulham in the Championship, I think Southampton was his best chance of doing that. So I'm extremely surprised to be honest that he decided not to go down that route. But Southampton don't have time to kind of curse their luck over that one. They've got to move on quickly."
Saw some Fortuna fans on Twitter saying the reason for the low reported transfer fee for Pandur is due to Fortuna still owing money to Acun from when he was a stakeholder and that Acun's written off any debts owed to him personally in exchange for a lower transfer fee. Don't know if that's true.
